Aiden Grimshaw joins Olly Murs and Cher Lloyd on the V Festival line up

Aiden Grimshaw finalist of series 7 has been announced to be performing on the Virgin Media Undercover Stage for next weekends V Festival.

Aiden released his first single earlier this year which received chart success and Critical acclaim and is heading to Chelmsfords Hyland Park next Saturday to perform to up to 50,000 guests that have bought tickets.

He will then swap to perform at Staffordshires Weston Park next Sunday on the same day as stars such as The Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher and Ed Sheeran

Two other X Factor acts inOlly Murs and Cher Lloyd will also take to the Virgin Media Stage and Arena Tent respectively at next weekends legendary twin festival.

Tickets are still on sale on various websites listed at www.vfestival.com

Good addition IMO

I don't understand why they haven't had Aiden at more of this summer's festivals. It is surely where he is most likely to pick up new fans. Good move to get him on this bill and I hope it helps drive sales of the album as well as Curtain Call

Wish I was going! I'm sure Aiden is going to be wonderful. He played London Live this week as well and received some really positive praise for that. I agree with wkdstepmother that he needs to be doing a lot more festivals as it will give him the opportunity to surprise people with the quality of his music.

Aiden was at Hyde Park on Monday and there is a short interview with him on BT Vision. He also sings one of his songs which I found to be very dreary.

I totally understand Aiden being on the V Festival line-up but no harm to them, I wouldn't consider Cher or Olly edgy enough for the line-up considering the majority of the other acts are alternative acts?

His album is called "Misty Eye" and is basically about breaking-up with someone so I'm pretty sure that he wasn't going for a barrel of laughs, "cheeky chappy" kinda thing!

I agree. It's always good to be well-prepared when it comes to knowledge of Olly Murs's wearabouts so we can be sure to avoid him.

That is a bit mean. Don't you know Olly "was the easiest 'Yes" that Simon Cowell ( a notoriously tough judge) had ever given?"

Olly Murs: "Cowell's encouragement was validation of his "talent".If there's one person that could see if I had talent, or if it's going to be rubbish, Simon was the person"

(in an interview USA Today).

NOT SURE WHO IS THE 'YES' MAN.

Simon will make Olly a member of Team GB next!

Cher and Olly aren't edgy enough? You do realise Nicki Minaj, Tulisa, LMFAO, Dappy etc are playing at V lmao.

Well have you not listened to his music of late? It's pretty much dubstep influenced electro music, so i'd consider it edgy.

Oh okay, I always associated it with more alternative acts tbh for some reason

Aiden is getting great album reviews so hopefully that'll aid in attracting some spectators.
