Free way to watch us Netflix on ps3 (free VPN)

I have the uk Netflix and have just done a two week free trial for a VPN - the us version is light years ahead (although there is some decent uk tv progs on uk Netflix) in terms of content.

Anyway to change VPN / get us Netflix for free? Apart from paying extra £3pm

you can probably get a free VPN but the reliability and quality of connection will be open to question because of the nature of it being free.

you'd honestly be better off paying unlock-us the money for a connection.

The US catalogue is far superior to what is on offer here. The Australian and Canadian Netflix also have different offerings

You can access US Netlfix without using a VPN. You can change your DNS instead to get access.

There are a few places which offer this service. Most offer a free trial before you need to subscribe. One such service is http://unblock-us.com/

Makes me laugh how the US Netflix has tonnes more "British" content than the UK Netflix too!

You can find "free" dns addresses in various places on the internet but they regularly change. I'd just stick with UnblockUS

This is tempting to try.

Are there any down sides to this system, i would have to set the router up as per their instructions.

Does this make it seem as though my entire web connection is in the US? Would I have to change things back if I wanted to access the UK PSN store?

Anyone tried this with the BT Infinity modem?

The service is great, I've been using it for 2 months. It's a bit of a secret how it actually works but it basically looks at your IP address, works out where it's coming from, looks at where you are going and masks your IP address to make it look like you are in that country.. very clever stuff.

You need to change your DNS settings, you can do this on some routers (you can't on the virgin media superhub) however it's really easy to change on each device. Takes 2 minutes to set up the PS3 and any computers you also wish to set up.

Just sign up for the 7 day free trial, takes 30 seconds (no credit card or anything required). Simples...

you don't need to do anything on your router. You can do it on individual devices such as a ps3, computer, internet tv, tablet, phone etc.

You can have one person watching UK netflix on one device while having omebody else watching us netflix on another simply by changing the dns of the inidvidual device

Just for anyone that didn't know, there is a free alternative to UnblockUs.

http://tunlr.net

No trials, no subscriptions, no fees, no BETA. It is 100% Free

I have been using it a couple weeks now and works perfectly!

Use it on the PS3, they can't restrict it like they can on a computer

Ofcoarse they can, it works by checking to see if your IP address has a active subscription. It doesn't make a difference what device you use.

Unfortunately tunlr have just stopped supporting netflix which is rather disappointing. I too have just recently signed up to netflix, came across tunlr and switched to netflix US, was all going well then today when i wanted to watch something i found they no longer supported netflix.

I didn't say you couldn't?

All I said was is that Unblock US can still block you for not paying no matter what device you use as its IP based and linked to your email.
