Blake Fielder-Civil on life support

Tomorrow's Sun front page says that Amy Winehouse's ex was found collapsed and is now in a coma and on life support.

Picture of the cover here.

I agree, I could care less about the well being of that non entity Civil dude, the toddler story though has me horrified, what dumbass parents that girl has, if she had fallen or caught by a gust of wind then she would have certainly died because of stupidity, not only that it would have cost the life of anyone who tried to save her.

The reality is the parents would try sue the city for insufficient safety warnings and emotional damages rather than accept they were dumb parents to let a girl stand inches away from plunging into a dirty and busy river, the mum would cry at the press conference and more money would be taken out of our struggling economy to basically reward negligent parents for gambling their daughter's safety and life away in return for a pay off from the state. Then they'd have to put up 10 foot tall neon signs saying "PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AWAY FROM HIGH PLATFORMS WHERE THEY CAN FALL TO THEIR DEATH" and then they'd get damaged and some other dumb kid would fall to their doom and the complaint would be "the signs were damaged, we didn't know!" rather than "Well, we are pretty dumb to have let our kid walk above a busy waterway, now she is dead perhaps we shouldn't have more kids because we are clearly crappy parents who want to blame obstructed or damaged signs and not our own crap parenting skills."

The sad/funny thing is they likely have 15 more years to find ways to neglect their duties to put her in an early grave so... good luck to her I guess, she certainly will need it if her parents are letting her at such a young age face certain death on the edge of a slippery bridge.

Given he's in our local hospital, I find it a slightly strange scenario, just the contrast between his life with Amy, and now he's in Dewsbury Hospital critically ill.

Saying 'could care less' suggests you do care.

Hardly surprising. And to be honest as much as I'd like to be more compassion about it, I find it hard to feel that sorry for him. I do feel sorry for his young child though. And I bet the mother of that child gets sick and tired of his name being constantly linked to Amy Winehouse's, especially considering they were both with other people when she died.

Yes, that did make my blood run cold. I wonder if the parents will have had a wake up call now that they've seen that in the paper.

Sorry, but while I have no doubt whatsoever that Mitch Winehouse loved his daughter and was devastated when she died, he exploited her as much as anyone, if not more.

Those of you saying it's karma - please remember he has parents who I'm sure didn't want their son to become a drug addict and would be devastated should he die.

Whatever bad he did in his life, he doesn't deserve to die, least of all because his ex wife did.
