I believe the BBC are working on an updated app. However in the mean time I believe there is a hacked version of flash online that works, try googling for it.

there are instructions for getting iplayer running on 4.1 in the Nexus 7 thread ("Google launches own tablet"). Works fine, as does the BBC Olympics app.

Flash runs on Jelly Bean, have it on my Xoom..
download Flash

BBC iplayer
install Aptoid http://androidappsio.store.aptoide.c.../BBC%20iPlayer
and when its installed search for bbc iplayer and install it,its the latest version.
You can then use flash and iplayer.

won't this be redundant when flash support for android is halted?

It's halted already but obviously still works.

Adobe did a deal with Microsoft so it will now be exclusively on Windows RT tablets.

Tegra 3 is way above the requirements for Flash but Adobe have a lot invested on the Windows platform so need to keep Microsoft happy. (That's my viewpoint - Adobe will be getting a lot of pressure from Apple too ).

they're not going to turn off Flash. it'll keep running just fine until and unless a version of Android comes out that has incompatibilities with the no longer updated Flash for Android.

Jelly Bean runs Flash just fine, so Flash will be around on Android for at least the next 6-12 months.

Browsers is a bit trickier - Chrome doesn't support Flash now, so we're relying on Firefox. But as long as older versions of browsers will run without auto-updating themselves, there won't be a problem.

the implication of this though is that there is no official support for iPlayer on new android devices. which should expedite an update for the Nexus 7.

The BBC will update their app in due course. As they realise that Flash has been removed from the Google Play Store.

As for flash, it will continue to work on devices it is installed on though support and updates will stop in September 2013.
