EE - Did Ian have a breakdown before?
Back when Cindy and Simon was having an affair and it came out that he wasn't Steven's father etc, Cindy left with Steven and Simon I think did Ian have a sort of breakdown then aswell?

Yeah, Ian did have a kind of mini-breakdown when Cindy and Simon left. But it was no where near as bad as this! This is a full-on breakdown.
As a side note, I think Ian could become a member of the Thundercats with that new look .

Some of my earliest memories of 'Enders were Ian's 'mini breakdown' moments. I vividly remember the episode when he tried to kill himself and crashed the van after he found out he wasn't Steven's father.
I also remember the famous shotgun moment well and when he cut the brakes on the van to get revenge on Wicksy. He had some pretty good storylines around that time and if memory serves continued to do some pretty bizarre things for the 18 months or so before Cindy returned. Admittedly these are all small in comparison to what's going on now but nevertheless at the time they were great moments. |

![]() ![]() Yeah, oh dear, poor Ian. I'm not a man, but I'm sure men's beards don't grow that long-I mean Santa Clause long. Not after only about eight weeks without shaving. Jeez... The writers are exaggerating.

I once let my beard grow for three whole months as a bet and it was no where as long as Ian's beard!

Isn't it a real beard though? I'm sure it's Adam's own and not a stick on thing.

He had a breakdown in 2000 when he went bust. I remember he left the Square in a car driving past all his old businesses with a creepy piano theme in the background.
