Not ever had any of them on CD, but my fave cassette was number 3. I stopped buying them after 4.

3 for me too! I have it on vinyl. Some killer songs on there-Two Tribes, Smalltown Boy and the brilliant "Dr Mabuse" by Propaganda. I also rather liked the Now Smash Hits retrospective from 1987-again, got it on vinyl.

My Favourites Are :

Now 47 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_Tha..._47_(UK_series)

Now 40 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_Tha..._40_(UK_series)

Check out the tracklistings above... It's funny cos I've Now 40 on cassette & Now 47 on CD.
I clearly discovered a CD player in the space of Now40 & Now47. LOL

Either Now 37 or Now 42 - both FANTASTIC albums, full of great pop tunes & sums up the era when they were released. Now 37 in 1997 & Now 42 in 1999:
Now 37: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Now-Thats-Wh...4762730&sr=1-1

Now 42: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thats-What-C...4762738&sr=1-1

Now 47 was first to spring to mind, or 42 which has also already been mentioned, but then I remembered my true favourite! Now 44 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_Tha..._44_(UK_series)

43 and 46 are the most pop ones.

I liked them in the 90s. I don't bother with them or any albums now. I just download songs I like. No room for album fillers on my hard drive

Since I love the 80s it would be an 80s one by default; the earlier ones generally accord most with my tastes, although I was quite surprised going through the tracklistings to find that Now 9, Side 4 is the only one I'm happy to listen to all of without skipping. Coincidentally enough it was the one before the proper full-length CDs kicked in too, which solved that hitting fast-forward/picking up the stylus problem lol

Now 17. 1990. Still got it somewhere. One of my favourite records of all time is on it Depeche Mode Enjoy the silence. Used to come home from school and play it about 20 times in a row.

That's the one also with 'Everything starts with an E' on it!!! Imagine them trying to get away with that these days, although mind you I suppose only a few realised what they were actually going on about at the time

Now 17 is quite top-heavy with that kind of housey/ravy stuff actually, that's probably the point where it started going downhill for me. Now 16 still had some decent 80s style pop rock on it - both Belinda Carlisle 'Leave A Light On' and Debbie Harry 'I Want That Man' being two speaker-blasters on side 1

Showing your age - ha! Well Now 47 was the last one I received as a Christmas gift from a relative stuck for ideas and yes, she clearly was considering I was 16 odd. Mind you it did feature 'Pure Shores' and that Kernkraft 400 track, which at the time I really liked.

However, if you think 47 shows your age a bit, the first one I ever owned, which is my favourite one, is Now 18!

I was only 6 when I got it and still own it. The e discs and accompanying booklet/liner notes are in a fantastic condition considering it's almost 22 years old - eeek! However, I had to replace the double jewel case it came in because the first one was well and truly knackered.

Now 18's got some fantastic songs on it but it does feature the Bombalurina cover of Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. I used to play 'Tom's Diner' and 'Dirty Cash' to death.

Good to see a few mentions for Nows 17, 37 and 42. I think the reason I got Now 18 as a Christmas present was because I was constantly 'borrowing' my father's copy of Now 17 to listen to 'Dub Be Good To Me' and UB40's cover of 'Kingston Town.'

I got Now 37 around the same time as 2 other compilations (one of them being 'the best summer album...ever!) that featured the Tee's club radio mix of 'Lovefool' by the Cardigans. I preferred the original radio edit, which thankfully was included on Now 37. However my favourite tracks soon became 'Sun Hits The Sky' by Supergrass and Todd Terry's 'Something Going On.'

Now 56 from Dec 2003 - without a doubt the best (IMO)

Cd 1 is just awesome
I remember getting lucky with that one and buying it from Play.com a week after it was released for £6.99. I was doing a bit of DJing at the time and still remember that Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love' was track 6 on disc 1. How sad is that?
