EE - Paul
I watched an old episode of Eastenders this morning on UK Gold and it was one of the first episodes when Paul joined- he had a FULL Jamaican accent and now it is strangely VERY COCKNEY!!!! Does anyone else remember his accent when he first joined??? Seems like Vicky wasn't the first to forget her roots!

Quite a few people do that, and I find it quite annoying. In The Bill, Rob the Knob (who has a generic London accent) got angry and suddenly came over all Jamaican (sucking his teeth and everyting), when I don't think he has even been there.
I like accents, but find it odd when for example Asian kids all over the UK (from Aberdeen to Cornwall) adopt mock american gangsta rap accents and body movements, like Ali G. There was also a time recently, when many kids would affect a Mancunian accent (sorted). I'd like to know when broad Glaswegian will become fashionable, and hear English kids attempt it. Rudi ![]() I know someone who moved to America aged 6, and doesn't have even a trace of an American accent. |
