If I need to add anything else eg cocoa to make a chocolate cake, I just add it to taste ”

Thank you; can I substitute self raising flour with all purpose flour? Does it give the same results?

All purpose flour is plain flour, so no it won't work as it comes. You can "make" self raising flour by adding baking powder and salt though.

From a quick look online you want about 2 teaspoons of baking powder per 150g flour and about 1/2 a teaspoon of salt.

I made this a few weeks back. I woke up and the idea just came to me, like an epiphany....A rum and strawberry dessert based epiphany. http://www.thebritishmenu.com/strawb...do-cheesecake/

Inspired by the first episode of The Great British Bake Off, I made this Madeira cake tonight. It's Mary Berry's recipe. There is the required 'crack' along the top, but there's not much of a 'dome'

Here is a cake I made to celebrate my 'KarateVersary' (my Karate Anniversary)
On the 4th of September 1980, I joined my Karate club. I have been with the same club ever since then.

Wow, just wow! What an amazing creation!

I might get one of these photo hosting things and upload some of my creations, although they're rather unimpressive in comparison to your fabulous creations!

I'm more traditional when it comes to baking, and could only dream of producing something like your cage cake!

Bloody fantastic!

Impressive icing on a sponge! Much more delicate to work with!

This looks like my kind of lemon meringe! Not a massive fan of meringue, I only like it in very small doses, so these are perfect!

Might pinch this idea if thats okay?
