You MADE those??!!! They're amazing! So consistent and professional-looking! Have you considered applying for The Great British Bake Off?
Aww thanks that's very kind! I'm not an all round baker though, for now I can only make cupcakes and Victoria sponges. I wouldn't have a clue how to make and decorate a birthday cake but that's the next project.

Here is the full series of cupcakes:

Seriously, I'm blown away! I'm jealous of whoever came to this party. You should be selling these, you'd make a fortune!

Hi Victoria
These cakes are superb, as good as I've seen on any professional website.
I am just a beginner at baking and decorating cupcakes etc, and I've only got a very cheap icing set (£1 from Poundworld ) and a set from Asda, but I'm getting a new nozzle every week. So far I have a small grass nozzle and a writing nozzle - I've discovered a brilliant new shop down the road from where I live.
Which nozzle do I need to make the big swirls ? Is it a large star nozzle ?

Ah the grass nozzle is fun isn't it! I have one but haven't actually used it yet, but I have seen it in use in several demo videos.

Ok, large swirls. I have the Lakeland set of giant nozzles, I believe Wilton also do a similiar set. I think the nozzle seen on the left in the picture is the one I used for my large swirls. It's soooo easy, I love it!

The shop where I buy my nozzles etc is called Cameo Cakecraft in Birkenhead. It's my new "favourite shop"
It's relocated from across town to just down the end of my street !
I'll be getting a couple of nozzles tomorrow including a large one for big swirls !

Not yet. They are waiting for a delivery, and this nozzle MIGHT be part of this delivery.
You would think that they would know what is getting delivered, wouldn't you ?

I've just tried my grass nozzle, but the "blades" of grass wouldn't hold their shape
The icing just collapsed into a mass of green icing.
The wife suggested that the weather might be too warm.

After you fill your piping bag, pop it in the fridge for a few mins or even the freezer. This hot weather will melt the icing quick, and even just holding the piping bag in your hands will warm up the icing.

Try again, you'll get it right in the end!
