When Kathleen Hutchison was announced as the new Executive Producer of EastEnders, all in Elstree trembled as it was soon announced that she had a hitlist of 14 characters who were all to be axed.

Kate Mitchell was the first one to be axed....but has she been given a reprieve?

The Ferreiras were all axed in one full swoop of the axe.

Very Dirty Den followed, bringing the axe toll up to 8.

Last week it was announced that Andy Hunter was the 9th Character to be given his marching orders.

And now this week, Chris Parker is the 10th actor to be given a P45.

The report said 14 characters were to be axed. With 10 gone, do you think there will be anymore axeings? Do you think that she should give it a rest and work with whats left and the new characters? Or are there four more characters who should be axed for the good of the show?

I personally can think of two, an they are Gus and Juley.

The Millers and DEFINITELY Juley.

Well, if not all the millers at least Demi. Paiin in the rectum.

And Paul - now that he's a 'hardman' again, there's no fun in his character.

You forgot Derek.. he's been given the axe too, hasn't he? Or at the very least, rumoured to have been given it?

I think, possibly, she should put a hold on any more immediate axings until the new characters come in to fill up the gaps that are left - remember Vicky and Sharon are also leaving. Once she's got the show up and running again....then my own personal wish list would include Juley and Big Mo - who get away with sheer murder with their "acting". Big Mo could have been a fantastic character instead of one that makes me want to throw things at the screen. The lad who plays Gus can actually act but seems to get dragged down by the huge incompetance of Juley.

I think the next lot of characters to be axed will be: Jules & Gus, Minty Fresh and Derek (although I was informed a few weeks back that Ian Lavender has already been given his P45 and will also leave early next year - the PTB will explain that after his heart attack, Ian can no longer work the long hours and so has decided to leave).

I think its almost certain that Letitia Dean will not be returning to the show and Sharon and Vicky’s exist to California, will mark the end of those characters for some time.

I thought you meant Ian as in Ian Beale! lol I actually quite like Ian Beale, I used to think he was a right twirp but he seems to be one of few characters in Walford who has evolved and grown up a bit.

With all these characters going, there must be some truth to the "something big at Easter" storyline. Otherwise half of them will still be in the show this time next year, with the amount of time it will take to devise storylines for each individual exit.

And next time they bring in a gay character, they should really focus on portraying the character in a realistic light. EastEnders really shot themselves in the foot with Derek, an the only time they referred to his past was surprise surprise the same night Todd and Karl kissed in Corrie. And they made themselves look even more pathetic.

My four would be Derek, Gus, Juley and possibly Garry.

Derek, Gus, Juley & Zoe but if the rumours are true and she's leaving anyway, Minty can be given the boot.

I see your point.. if the show lost him, it'd be like the tragic death of Jack revisited.

If she is axing all these people, i want to know how shes going to do it, i mean fill all the gaps in storylines, it should be wuite interesting, if she gets through it, then you know shes a good exec producer. Anyone who can axe all these characters and still manage to keep the soap going must know what tehy are talking about.

I think it could turn out very well, and i think most of these axings are just rumours and speculation.
