Just signed up to Netflix, and currently using it via Wii. Does anyone know if Samsung are likely to bring out a Netflix widget to use via their T.V. Sets? I have downloaded all their current widgets, and there is not a Netflix one.

What are the other widgets on the new Samsung TVs?
BBC iPlayer (excellent quality including HD streams of some shows)
BBC Sport (again, excellent quality including live HD streams when available - this was amazing during the Olympics)
ITV player (Maybe I am nuts, but I am convinced the video quality is better than what I see on their normal web version)

All three above seems to work pretty good.

There may even be Lovefilm, but I can't remember as I don't subscribe to it - but it rings a bell.

Missing channel 4 (greatly) and channel 5 (meh)

All the other apps are pretty much rubbish. But when the real players get involved such as the three mentioned above, I think they do a great job.

Works on my 2012 es6800 model. I have heard some other/older models do not have them all.

I appreciate your anger. 2011 is hardly too old to run an ITV app. There is no real excuse from Samsung and ITV except bad customer support.

Hell, I have a 4 year old laptop that will happily play ITV player streams, and I suspect my 8 year old laptop would if I could be bothered powering it on.

The hardware is there in the Samsung, but someone somewhere doesn't want to bother writing the code after someone else moved the goal posts.

Even though I have the ITV player, it bothers me as well, as they way they are going, come 2013 it will stop working unless I buy a new set.

Thanks for a very nice post. I just Hope this Samsung lasts as long has my old 28inch Bush, 14 years I don't plan to buy another Samsung, but have to admit the picture and 3D are really really lovely on this set.
I advice people to forget about "smart tv"
