These are the top 20 shows that week. Only 3 EastEnders because of Children In Need and CIN looks like it took viewers away from Coronation Street and Emmerdale as their Friday shows are a good bit lower compared to the other episodes that week - except from that Sunday Emmerdale which should just be axed.

1 CORONATION STREET (MON 1934) 13.79
2 CORONATION STREET (SUN 1929) 13.36
3 CORONATION STREET (MON 2029) 12.86
4 CORONATION STREET (WED 1931) 12.73
5 EASTENDERS (MON 1959) 11.94
6 EASTENDERS (TUE 1929) 11.54
7 CORONATION STREET (FRI 1932) 11.32
8 EASTENDERS (THU 1930) 11.31
9 EMMERDALE (MON 1903) 11.18
10 EMMERDALE (THU 1903) 10.84
11 EMMERDALE (TUE 1904) 10.37
12 EMMERDALE (WED 1900) 10.34
13 HEARTBEAT (SUN 2000) 9.87
14 I'M A CELEBRITY (SUN 2103) 9.52
15 STRICTLY COME DANCING (SAT 2016) 9.39
16 EMMERDALE (FRI 1900) 9.08
17 EMMERDALE (SUN 1901) 8.75
18 STRICTLY COME DANCING (SAT 1831) 8.71
19 TEN O'CLOCK NEWS (FRI 2200) 8.66
20 CHILDREN IN NEED (FRI 1900) 8.48

Not bad, though I notice the clean sweep for ratings for Corrie has ended after a few weeks - 2 EE eps beat Corrie's edition on Friday 19th Nov.

Next weeks should be interesting with the Mad Maya impact.

So with Emmerdale being number 2 soap, it seems EastEnders is beating it in the ratings again, not by much mind.

Emmerdale wasn't really winning anyway Will. Apart from the head2heads where EE has been beaten more times than Emmers, EE have mostly kept ahead of Emmers; however the gap has narrowed dramatically lately and Emmerdale are still breathing down the necks of the Walford rivals - for now....

lmao, so much so the writers of 2004 Enders have to be replaced, otherwise they won't get anything done.

They had a 30 minutes advantage

I am using same excuse that ITV give when X factor was beaten week on week by SCD

Because its good old fashioned entertainment and the celebs are learning something not one of them is obviously looking to increase their profile and its better than pub singers on ITV

Well, you got the "old fashioned" bit right. Not sure about "good" or "entertainment" though

Hmmm...back on topic if we can (this isn't a "slag off ITV" thread)...does anyone have any theory as to why Monday night is the most popular with all the soaps?

I've no idea. Wasn't the last time we got these ratings (i.e. the week before) when EE got its lowest ratings of the week on a Monday?

I wasn't implying the BBC copies things (where you got that from I don't know) I was simply stating my fear at the thought of celebrity synchronised swimming. The dancing is bad enough thank you. Anyway, of course the BBC copy things - the music and lighting effects of the weekest link closely resemble those of Millionaire and Eastenders is always using rehashed storylines. The BBC even went to occupy the Ten o'clock news slot after ITV scrapped news at ten. And most importantly of all - the BBC rip us off!

No that was a Tuesday.

I think Monday is the most popular night because its right after the weekend, a lot of people would be chilling after the nastyness that is Monday, plus its wall to wall soap til 9pm, I think viewers tend to just follow Emmerdale with Corrie and then Enders an then Corrie again.
