Yep. And it's worldwide news believe it or not. Been picked up by the NY Times, and CBS, NBC and ABC TV in the States and Canada, OZ, NZ and Malaysia, Indonesia, name a country with media. Movie will be in theaters at Xmas plus Subo will also have CD #5 out then, too. Haha. Another day, another $$$ million. POOR SUBO.

Quite all right. I'm sure no one else ever has. My charitable effort for the day.

But Susan Boyle's sensational debut was 4 years ago. She's still making albums and still selling. Not in the millions anymore. Her 4th album released last November is at 500, 000 + sales WW, but not bad for a middle aged woman, who sings standards and never gets radio play and, to date, has not toured. She has a "proven fan base" as Sony says, and that fan base will at least look at anything she's involved in, including the new MW commercial in the US, and now, this Xmas movie out next December. 90% of current singers would kill for her opportunities and wealth.

Enya's style of music doesn't (chillout/ambient) suit live concerts, while Susan's does.
So comparing them is a wrong choice.

The new ifpi report says her last album only met sales targets in New Zealand, eveywhere else it flopped. That is why they stopped all the promo early.

Total shipped was 500K in 2012, expected was 1.3million.

Also, her fanbase is quit small. The best way to tell would be to release outside of q4-sales would be less than 300k without xmas sales.

The endless press coverage was in 2009, my dear. One of the reasons Subo, is so profitable to her label is that there are no multimillion$$$ promotion campaigns. A couple of appearances on the usual talent shows and that's it, plus free media. And still she chugs on, living simply, with occasional splashouts on Spanish vacations and bling. And that is why, when she retires, she'll still have $$$millions.

And enya cannot of course sing live, as there is so much post production and layering used on most of the popular album tracks.

Yeah, It wouldn't work live. While Susan's is a straightforward vocal style, and performed in every theatre in the world this way.

All these talent shows are set up, the producers know the contestants life stories before they even get pass round 1, and they hear them first before the judges so they know who is good and who is bad and who will be the underdog etc. Plus then u have the editing and the judges must have an idea of who is coming as they know the right questions to ask
