IMO - No he should definetly not be SORASed by that much. Adding 12 years to make him 18 is way too much considering that everyone who knows Sharon didnt even know dennis rickman existed that long ago so it wouldnt have been possible to conceive Jnr with Dennis. If anything if they retconned his age to 18 then it would seem as if Grant or Phil was the father considering that would have been around the time of Sharongate. It would just ruin the show if sharon suddenly turned up with an 18yr old son when people who warched her first and/or second stint knew she didnt have one and that the one conceived in 2005 was a "miracle". I think that a lot of viewers would switch off if that happened. I think that resurrecting Den again might be more believable than that

Let's display some common sense. Dennis is 6. Nothing can change that.

We may as well raise Kathy from the dead, make Dot an atheist and set Albert Square in the middle of Hong Kong

LMAO, that'd be priceless!
The amount of complaints the BBC would get would be hilarious!
I think Lorraine Newman would be a legend though, and very brave!

Then again, it actually wouldn't surprise me you know. Nothing with soaps surprise me anymore.

What if Dennis Jr turned into Nigel Harman (Dennis Sr) everytime he got angry?

It can't, EVER. That's the thing people don't seem to understand about EE - it ages like the rest of us.

We're not going to go from Dennis dying in Sharon's arms, have her give birth to Dennis Jr, and then cut to him 18 year later, trying to avenge his father's death by taking Phil on!

Basically, EE is not a film and, in this instance, is not comparable to other soaps. He was born in 2006, he is 6.

Yes, they did exactly the same thing with Bradley to make more 'adult' storylines believable. Seems a little unnecessary but I don't think that one year is that big a deal - 12 is.

One UK drama that has done it is Casualty. Louis Fairhead was born in the first episode of Series 11 (Sept 96) so should be coming up on 16. Last I heard of him was about 2 years ago when he'd already got a girl pregnant, caused loads of trouble for his dad and was clearly meant to be knocking 20.

Whenever they have changed character's ages in the past it has usually been by a year or two never 12 years!! They could never get away with it least of all with the offspring of a legend.

Plus Sharon's surprise pregnancy in 2005 was notable as she had always believed herself to be infertile.
