I was quite surprised that Heather Small didn't even get a look in at the Olympics opening or closing ceremonies. I mean wasn't Proud the official promotion song for London Olympics four/five years ago?

Really thought this would have been a brilliant way to close the Olympics with such an inspirational song that was used to to promote the whole thing in the first place.

You're not the only one. The family were all waiting for Heather to turn up

Such a special song.

They even made a new video for it with sports peeps in it.

If I'm honest, I thought they would either have Heather Small singing Proud or the whole of M People singing Search For The Hero

They should have placed her in Emeli's spot. There was no need for Emeli to perform twice.

I was hoping they'd play it too. My year at school adopted it as "our song" at school. Played at our leaver's ball, and assembly.

I never liked M people. I'm sure I'm not in the minority.

Proud was a great song, and as i see this song and the band mentioned M People i would love to see return, they really had some great tunes in their time.

Agreed. I like Emeli but it was ridiculous for her to be featured as heavily as she was during the Olympics. She's new to the scene but she was treated like an icon who has been around for years and years. Bizarre.
