Sharon's return.. It wasn't really that good was it?
Not sure exactly what it was that didn't do it for me but there really was'nt much pace to it. It seemed very underdramatic.
Not complaining but in my mind it certainly did not live up to expectations.. And in honesty it seemed rather staged and predictable. But what do you think? |

Well I don't watch Eastenders never have but I saw the trailers with her floating down in a wedding dress like Miss Havisham, that looked rather dramatic to me?

You talk like that's it. The story continues over the next several episodes and I would hardly say it was 'underdramatic'...! She crashed an engagement party and her son was kidnapped. Not bad for an hour's work.

Sharon is back and I am glad, lots of drama tonight, you cant compare this comeback with her 2001 comeback, this is a new era of Sharon but Letita put her heart into it tonight...
i am looking forward to the Ian/Sharon scenes later this week... |

No, but I'm hoping that once she's living back on the Square, it'll feel a bit more...right.

I didn't see the point of any of it. He's hardly gangster material also it was very unclear where she met him America and what she's been doing recently? They don't have pubs over there called 'The Stag' yet she told Phil she'd been back two weeks?
It seemed very contradictory and contrived but in usual melodramatic Sharon style she panicked that her son had been kidnapped all because she'd left him in a hotel after jilting someone? I just didn't get it and to bring this storyline up just as Ben is about to be found out seems very strange. |

I wasn't too impressed with it either much of it didn't make sense however the Heather Storyline running the same week is more than making up for it.

Meh, it's only begun. It's slightly ridiculous but Sharon's always been a rather ridiculous character.

I'm certainly looking forward to the rest, don't get me wrong.. Just felt the 'feel' to the episode didn't scream "WOW!" lol

No, it wasn't. Still I love having her back on the show and look forward to storylines after the return. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a return storyline from any character in any soap always so overly dramatic.

It didn't work for me because it was sandwiched into an already full episode. Bizarre planning.

I don't watch Eastenders, but I'm guessing if people feel it fell flat it was because it was too hyped up. Things that are built up and hyped up to buggery usually end up not meeting expectations. Bit like Christmas, shops plan it months in advance, people start getting wound up weeks before, then it comes and is gone in the blink of an eye and it's all "was that it? All the exitment for that?"

Very underwhelming. There's the rest of the week to come of course, but it was all a bit of an anti-climax after all that hype. I don't really understand why Sharon went to get Phil? What was his purpose? She wasted all that time coming to Walford to get him - bearing in mind she hasn't seen him for six years - and he just stood there looking all grumpy while she argued with her fiance. Why leave her son alone? Why couldn't she just jilt him and leave him and leave Phil in peace? Why was she so desperate to get Phil? It seemed like a very poor plot device so they could set up the kidnap/dramatic car chase in the next episode. It made no sense.

The Heather storyline was definitely the best material on screen tonight. |

I liked it. I mean, yeah, it wasn't explosive, but I liked her scenes. I loved Phil's reaction when she said "it's Dennis" for the first time...a sign of things to come?
Yes, the Heather stuff definitely stole the show IMO, I spent a lot of the time wondering what Ben was going to do, what Ian was going to say and for the moment Shirley spotted the frame. The Michael/Janine stuff was rather interesting, too. So, overally, I've loved Monday's episodes. |

I enjoyed tonight's episodes actually. I'm pleased that Sharon's return was balanced out with the other stuff that was going on in the episode. All too often we see returning characters take over the whole show at the expense of everything else.It was never going to live up to the hype for everyone. I think once she settles back into the Square it will feel more right but I actually really enjoyed tonight's camp factor. ![]() Quote:

I thought it was stupid that after the fiance turned nasty she was just sat there talking to Phil before it dawned on her where's Dennis? Hardly mother of the year!

2 BIG storylines building up and Wednesdays episode looks fantastic. It's got a small cast aswell.
Shirley is on the case now so tomorrow it could be possible she finds out Ben killed Hev and of course Sharon and Ians scenes will be fantastic |

I thought the jilted fiance premise was very cliched. Very chick Lit. And Jessie Birdsall is another good looking bastard. Is there any other kind?
