I personally thought that there was some very lazy and poor writing and researchers in EE tonight, when it came to Roxy talking about Sharon with Billy...

Surely Roxy would have heard of Sharon, and Billy mentions to her that she was with Grant in the past, but there's no mention of her father, his death or Dennis' death either.

I also find it amusing that so many EE residents seem to know nothing about Den's murder and his burial in the cellar :L

I know they were not all around when it happened, but naturally people would talk about it, considering Roxy's dad Archie died in a very similar fashion (in the Vic on the floor by the bar) to Den's death.

She's only been back for one episode!
Not everyone has been shown yet and had a chance to react to her return yet. Give it time.

Roxy hadn't been in contact with the other Mitchells for a long time, and in that time Sharon came into their lives and then left.

Who'd really discuss Den? Few people know how Den actually died and after a while even big events like that are forgotten. Mo might have said something but who'd listen to her?

Den's death was referenced when Sam returned but she was hardly in a position to compare notes.

Sharon will probably bring Den up at some point.

There's so many murders/deaths in the square that they hardly register with the residents.

True. They kind of get forgotten over time and as characters come and go.

I think it should of been discussed about Dirty Den when Archie was murdered in the exact same place.

Same here! It was almost like they tried to erase 2005 EE history (Den's death storyline) from viewers memories...

Quite a few residents would of commented on how similar the death circumstance was to Den's.

Think about it, when Archie died (in the episode) I recall the following characters being around (Who are aware of Den's death):

Billy, Phil, Peggy, SAM (Why the hell didn't she say anything about how shocking it was that Archie died on the Vic's floor like she witnessed when Chrissie killed Den in 2005)? :O

Other characters include: Patrick, Mo, Stacey, Dot (Bound to have a natter about deaths in the pub!) and Ian.
Such lazy writing... (Sighs)

Again, nobody (but a handful of people) knew exactly where, perhaps even HOW Den died. None of the key players in that storyline were going to discuss it openly.

Similarly, few people saw Archie's dead body. Ronnie saw him, Stacey killed him...who else...

Sam Mitchell knew though and she was involved in Den's murder storyline... Even just a mention to Peggy about how it brings back bad memories of the past would have been good.

Perhaps, yes, but she wasn't there to witness Archie's death. They completely ruined her character anyway, she no longer felt like the same Sam portrayed by Kim Medcalf.

Both murders would of made the national press and news and the details would of came out in court when Chrissie was on trial and there would of been an inquest in to Archie's murder where details would of came out.

Yes, but the papers would be contemporary and concentrate on the case at hand. If in fact there was a passing reference to Sam's involvement in Den's death (which I'm sure WAS brought up at some point!) the papers wouldn't go into graphic detail when the Archie murder investigation was going on.

I suspect that the few residents who DID pay attention to the national press (which, on EE, is rare) might have made a fleeting remark about this, but having not known Den, they wouldn't have bothered to talk about how he died, rather they'd judge Sam and Sam alone for her part in it.

The fact that Den was buried in the cellar for so long, would mean that the statements given by both Sam and Chrissy might have changed slightly, too.

I'm just wondering why Ian hasn't had a shave yet? Why wouldn't they get him more cleaned up? He looks ridiculous now, it was ok when they found him as a down and out, but now it just looks stupid and very false!

needs a hair cut as well now. I imagine it was kept so long for continuity reasons as they film out of sync

Was his beard real? If so, they probably wanted to make the most of it if they had Adam Woodyatt take all that time to grow it out.

Ian was only away for 2 months. His hair wouldn't have grown that long in that time.
