With the great show of Running Up That Hill at the Olympic Close, even without her presence, and the song selling so well on the back of it, the time has come for the final push to return this greatest of female artists to the place she belongs, standing on top of the UK Singles Chart once more, looking down on all the low life females that should be beneath her and know their inferior place in the female pop hierachy.

KATE BUSH - RUNNING UP THAT HILL

Make it to the summit this weekend and stay there!

Not to forget that, "The Whole Story", appears to be doing very well in the album charts too.

Who knows? Perhaps, with a little help, she can do the double?

It wont happen. She might be top 10 going on the present itunes chart, but at least a whole group of songs from that night will feature, from Elbow, to Ed Sheeran.
Have to say, as a Bush fan right at the start, it was never one of my fave songs.

Would love her to be number 1

Criminal it only debut at number 3 in 1984! One of my all time favourite songs! that raw beauty and the rhythm...always gives me chills....one of my all time songs, on one of my all time albums from one of my all time artists!

Heck if 10,000 buy The Whole Story it will top the chart...look at the decline in sales, so it is possible (hopefully) although i would love Hounds Of Love to chart in the top 40 too

One can dream

I love how Kate has come back and is producing material again, introducing her wondrous magic to a new generation- and still under her own terms!

If only she'd release an updated "Whole Story" The Sensual World, This Woman's Work, Rubberband Girl, Rocket Man, King Of The Mountain, And So Is Love, The Red Shoes, Wild Man...and the original Wuthering Heights all missing

Under her own terms - does that mean an independent label cos nobody really cares anymore

No, it means she wanted 100% complete control without having to run things past EMI anymore. Judging by the amount of hype and excitement surrounding her making an appearance at the Closing Ceremony, I'd say plenty of people still care about Kate Bush.

It's a pity she couldn't actually condescend to appear at the closing ceremony and sing the song in person like she was invited to do.

A Thank You from Kate...

I am completely thrilled and touched by the overwhelming response from everyone to the remix of RUTH. I thought the whole closing ceremony of the Olympics was extraordinary and I'd like to thank everyone there for choosing me to be a part of it. It is such a huge honour.

What an incredible wealth of musical talent we have in this country. I thought everyone was fantastic. I especially loved Elbow, Annie Lennox, George Michael (who was totally brilliant) and The Who, who were simply stunning.

Thank you so very much.
Very best wishes,
Kate

I thought it was a remix not a new vocal?

To be fair, she's never exactly been known for performing live...

If she ever does anything live I think it will be a small and intimate - just her and a piano.
