Adele 21 for sure, there has been many overrated albums/artists but this album/artist tops the pile by a long way.

Add to that What's The Story Morning Glory nothing special at all could sit along 21 quite nicely.

Also Ed Sheeran by a country mile nice guy nice songs apart from that what if anything different has he added to the bubbling cauldron that is music.

Rita Ora, Emeli Sande basically most recent females in the last few months overly generic or just dull.

AGREED Rita Ora and Emeli Sande are overrated, I do like Rita Ora KIND OF but she is still overrated.

lol. everyone has their own opinions on what is overrated. what is even the criteria for deciding what is and what isnt? it's all down to personal opinion. people say 21 is overrated, but the 22 million people who bought it seem to say otherwise and the fact that it was the biggest selling album of last year and is still in the top of the charts over a year later also mutes the point that it is overrated. next, you are going to say michael jackson's thriller is overrated

Haha i just had but i do genuinely think that album is overrated a lesser extension of the better Definitely Maybe.

And whilst i remember Take That and Gary Barlow he is not the best songwriter in this country nor will he ever be he does some nice pop songs but thats where it ends.

Amy Winehouse. Hugely overrated by casual listeners who enjoy her take on something they usually have little knowledge of, or exposure to.


Alexandra Burke. Only overrated on here as far as I can see. A girl who can sing but has no artistic vision. I honestly wish she'd record worthwhile music rather than second-rate generic pap but I won't be surprised if it never happens. If her career implodes, it doesn't matter a jot. Artists with far more impressive track records have fallen right off the radar, without anyone seeming to care or notice.


Madonna. A mediocre singer who survives due to being a package rather than a talent, baring flesh and frequently reinventing herself. I find it laughable that people take her seriously.


Beyoncé. She tries so hard to be an awesome singer that it's cringe-worthy. Dreadful material too. The song she did for Austin Powers was ok but she owes most of her fame to a Chi-Lites sample and her ever-changing appearance/ lack of clothes.

Overrated single- Crazy In Love (Beyonce / Jay Z) - I have no idea how this was even voted the best song of the noughties. It's just pretty meh to me
Overrated album - Florence & The Machine - Ceremonials - Aside from 'Never Let Me Go' I'd rather not bother with the rest
Overrated artist - Madonna. Just seeing how she's been with MDNA, It's embarrassing. 80s/90s Madonna, I get the hype. But now a days, she needs a seat and a cuppa tea methinks.
