She does but I think she then starts to think that maybe her mother was actually telling the truth and that added to what Liz said really makes her doubt his version of events.

I hope they don't rush this storyline so it's all over by the end of Christmas. It needs to keep on a slow burn and run for a month or two yet.

I can't see Corrie just dropping the storyline so quickly.

Yes, in real life this sort of situation can last for years.
They can't just have it for a few months!

I hope they do finish this plot quickly. Since Charlie's arrival Shelley's character has been unbearable. I hate his character, and all related plots.

Really?
I've been enjoying the storyline myself- it makes me cringe which means they're doing it well as it's provoking a strong reaction.

That made sense in my head.

Apparently he rips off her Earings over Christmass and she bleeds. That would be awfull viewing, poor Shelly.

I don't feel sorry for her at all, how can anyone be so bloody stupid and fawn around like she does.

She was warned by her own mother and then Liz, twice I might add.

How desperate is she to keep a man? That equates to someone very sad and pathetic in my book.

So you would agree to physcal violence in this case then simply because you think she's pathetic?

I didn't say that at all did I? I am just saying she was warned that he is not the perfect man she believes he is.

She doesn't want to believe what everyone else is saying as she doesn't want to be on her own.

I just think he has brainwashed the poor lamb.
I'm sure many a woman has sadly found themselves in the same situation.

I actually think after the Peter storyline, this could fit in nicely, or at least it could have if it was done properly.

Remember all the embarassment that Shelly went through after Peter? Well maybe this has led, in some ways, to her being more trusting to Charlie. She doesn't want that relationship to go wrong, to save herself from any further embarassment in front of her friends and family.

What do the rest of you think of that?

I also think the Charlie storyline will go on for quite a while, to probably May(ish) then conclude with a big explosion, maybe the Rovers (?), in which Charlie will die. And what are the chances of another Monday night with three episodes then? Or even an eight episode week?

I doubt the Rovers exploding would happen as a climax to the Shelley and Charlie storyline! I can't see the Rovers exploding for any reason in the near future anyway.

She truely loves him and he has been playing with her mind. When she tries to say something is wrong, he twists it to make Shelley thinks its all her fault. She loves him and doesn't want to lose him.

I do agree with your logic about why she is still with him- she is afraid of more humiliation. I doubt there will be any explosion in the Queen Vic though
