I saw that coming a mile off.

glad to see that the writers havent conveniently forgotten phils (unintended) involvement in dennis seniors death.

I would quite like to see this trigger a breakdown with phil and perhaps we could see another repeat of phils 'blood on his hands' dream?

Trouble is, then he will probably become a crackhead/pisshead again and I dont think it a good idea too keep taking phil down that road.

The truth should come out at some point, and I think the fact that Dennis asked Phil if he knew, well, Dennis might hold some significance here. Phil's reaction yesterday to Sharon's "it's Dennis...." before she added "my son Dennis" was interesting, too.

I'm sure we'll hear more about Den, Dennis, Chrissy and perhaps Johnny too. In fact, I specifically remember Sharon asking Phil to "Get Johnny" (hence, Get Johnny Week) for her, so I'd like her to ask him if he did it.

I love that Sharon named her son after his Dad. He's such a little cutie, too.

All this has made me rewatch Dennis's final scenes in youtube, with Phil sending Dennis to his death bed.

Why do I put myself through it?

I don't know, but maybe in twelve or so years, Dennis will come back and take on Phil?

Possible but I think if Dennis forms a bond with Phil, then I think the liklihood for revenge will be slim, especially if Phil shows remorse.

Sharon will have much harder time forgiving Phil than Dennis. Unlike her son, she got to know Dennis, loved him with all her heart and trusted Phil not to say anything about Johnnys threats, but in the end he used Dennis in his petty revenge against Johnny.

I don't care how much guilt he felt afterward, it still pisses me off to the core that he manipulated and goaded Dennis into beating Johnny because he wasn't man enough to do it himself - and knowing the whole time that Dennis's life was threatened.

Phil may not be a murderer and I doubt he wanted the result with Dennis being murdered but he still has played a hand in so many deaths over the years. Steve Owen, Dennis Rickman, Kevin Wicks - and then there was that bloke in the carlot fire.

Phil isn't the one who pulls the trigger, no, he's just the one loading all the bullets.

The little kid is adorable but I must admit I'm not sure what accent he has?

Also, I think Phil should admit to Sharon down the line his involvement in Dennis' death. Maybe a guilty moment of madness or something...

Indeed Phil is the ultimate cause of several deaths, he's the silent influence over people and circumstances.

I agree, if Dennis forms a bond with Phil then he may not feel the need to take regenge, but in certain circumstances a bond can be broken when just one small detail is revealed - in this case it's a not-so-small detail. I hope Dennis doesn't take a shine to Phil, Mr Mitchell doesn't deserve the boy's trust.

I agree with both of these.

Just because his name is Dennis? I reckon they did the right thing not going with the stereoytpical "he looks just like his old man" routine.

I find the Little Lord Fauntleroy hairdo distracting. It's all I can focus on when mini-mini-Den is on screen.

I mostly loved the way that Phil was forced to think of Dennis every time he looked at him

Basically, Dennis got in a spot of bother with the bloke called Johnny Allen. There was great deal of hostility between them. Johnny was also a gangster and known to be dangerous.

Sharon visited Johnny one day to try and make peace over the situation but Johnny ended up grabing her by the throat and warning her that if she and Dennis didn't leave Walford by midnight on New Years Eve, Dennis would be toast. (Sharon not long discovered she was pregnant with Dennis Junior before this)

Sharon was petrifed and fearing for her husbands safety, she convinced Dennis to move to America with her for a fresh start. She didn't tell him what Johnny did - but she confided in Phil. She specifically asked him not tell Dennis because she was worried about what Dennis would do, and what the outcome would be.

Phil was also another person who had bad feeling with Johnny. They had hated each other for some time and the week of Dennis's death, Johnny was really winding Phil up.

On New Years Eve, Johnny managed to humiliate Phil, leaving Phil furious and wanting payback. He wanted someone to beat the living days lights out of him, so he went to Dennis. He didn't tell him what Sharon said at the first. Instead he told him that Johnny was responsibe for Andy Hunter - Dennis's best mate' -death. However that wasn't enough to push Dennis into doing Phil's dirty work. Therefore Phil told him about what happened between Sharon and Johnny.

Dennis was furious and upset but still wanted to go home to Sharon so they could leave together. However Phil goaded Dennis, manipulated him and tried his best to convince Dennis to give Johnny what he deserved. In the end Dennis gave in, and went to see Johnny. Phil did this knowing the threat on Dennis's head and what a dangerous man Johnny was.

Dennis beat seven shades out of Johnny and before walking out, threw him a mobile phone to call himself an ambulance (big mistake!). Johnny however used the phone to make a call to someone to 'off' Dennis

As the clock struck 12, Dennis was approaching Sharon on the square, all happy and smiles, ready to leave for a new life but someone passing (who we later learned was Danny Moon) stabbed him in the heart.

It ended with Dennis dying in Sharon's arms.

All this is featured in Dennis's last episode, which you can find here (Quality is not great though)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0feOjx80SHw

Sharon still to this day does not know of Phil's involvement and that he decieved her.

I can't wait for the fall out. It's going to be grand.

I think if and when Steve McFadden decides to either a) leave EE for good or b) take another break like he did in 2004 that is when the Dennis reveal will happen, we may have to wait for this to happen but I think it will happen possibly on or around the 30th anniversary in 2015.
