We've been through this a thousand times:

As for whether he knew about Phil, doubt it:

OK perhaps I was a little harsh, I apologise for that...but the BIB - what am I supposed to do - pop my head through the screen and talk to you face-to-face?

Personally I believe he's still alive
Probably in prison
The guys who came up to him at his exit and his reaction didn't really give the impression that they were from some other gang who wanted to kill him
This is entirely my own opinion though

I think he is dead, those were Johnny's men. He did take money from the Club before he left, so he might have paid them off before leaving. Another theory, which I doubt, is that a prison guard overheard Johnny say "Jake Moon" and those guys were actually coppers sent to take him away, but I doubt it.

The thing about hired hitmen, though, is that they don't care who they have to kill and they don't lose sleep over their actions. Dalton sent someont to kill Kate (Phil stepped in), Andy sent someone to kill Paul (who succeeded) and Johnny's cellmate sent people after Jake. Jake's face at the end there wasn't showing relief, he was clearly disappointed, and we don't know what happened next.

He was nuts, and I absolutely hate him for killing Dennis (I'm glad he's dead) but I thought he was a fascinating psycho, far more interesting to watch than his long-lost Goon cousins, Tyler and Anthony. Certainly a lot more sinister than "tough guy" Derek Bloody Branning!

I guess
But why would hitmen ask who he was in the middle of a street with witnesses nearby? Granted it was at night but still
Surely they would know who their target is already and not ask any questions

I'd love to see a Jake Moon return. Perfect time for it with Michael, Tyler, Kat and Alfie Moon in the show.

Tyler, not for much longer, I hope (ditto for Kat)

Nuts is an understatement for what Danny Moon is! A classic example, for how messed up in the head he was, was his behaviour in Den's last episode, also shortly coinciding with the death of Andy Hunter (another who I don't really miss - he was the most annoying 'gangster' of that era). Danny Moon, and Jake Moon were miles better than Tyler and Anthony, and that's saying something because during the 2004 - 2006 era, they were never that well recieved; yet the Goons make them look like icons! Anyone is better than Derek. In fact, the only people who are as bad/annoying as Derek are Kat, Lola, Lucy and Joey.

True, he was totally demented. Yet, despite everyone complaining about the gangster era, we had some great emotional range displayed by both Jake and Danny (even Andy, terrible as a gangster, blows both Goons out of the water with his ability to invest energy into his role as a bully; glad he's dead too).

BIB: If only we could get Danny to kill of those characters instead!

I'll never forget the 'Mice of Men' scene where Jake killed Danny. And Phil was such a wussy, he was going to let Grant die as well! Out of the two brothers, I preferred Jake. Yes, he got involved with Chrissie Watts (of all people?!) but he seemed far more human, and well, more sane than his brother (which to be fair, isn't that hard) and others in the 'gangster' world - Andy Hunter, for instance always seemed to be on verge of a breakdown from when Kat dumped him for Alfie back in 03' (good Kalfie times). And at the BIB.

Indeed, Jake was far more likeable and much, much more human than his brother. Indeed, perhaps Jake is George and Danny is Lennie If so, I say well done to the EE writers for being clever enough to put their own spin on it! I may be in the minority here, but I loved Jake and Chrissy as a couple. Unlike Danny, Jake had the ability to love and care for others, demonstrated by not only his anguist at Nana's death, but also through his relationship with Chrissy...

I will forever love Jake for telling Ruby exactly what he thought of her too

I wasn't too keen on Jake & Chrissie, but I loved his confrontation with Ruby - it was especially good, as every last word of it was true

Yes with Kat, Alfie, Michael and now Sharon back in the Square a return for Jake would be good.
