I am sorry but if someone was in this state in the real world you'd get the guy some professional help.

It annoys the hell outta me the way EE handles mental health issues so badly!!!!!

Why hasn't Christian contacted Jane, Bobby is her son ffs????? How come Jane hasn't had Bobby for so long considering Ian and her have joint custody??????

Why has no one contacted Peter???? Peter is his son and since Lucy is unwilling to help surely someone would contact Peter to help his father!!!

The writting on this boils my bloody pi$$!!!!!!!

Jane is not Bobby's Mother

Phil has taken control over what happens with Ian. He is the one taking advantage of his mental health.

I dunno about Peter.

But come on.. get over it. Eastenders is not real.

Bloods thicker than water, when push comes to shove, Ian will always have more power over Bobby's rights!!

I agree, what are people expecting from Ian? Take him to the Doctor to see if he's okay in his health after months living off the street then to a mental Doctor too.

I was never saying Jane should have Bobby but when Jane left it was stated that as she has joing custody she'd have regular contact. Ian went missing for ages and Janes hasn't even been in contact.

The whole story is just shit, it's just a good job Adam is a good actor to draw attention away from the actual story.

I just think the writing is shoddy!

I agree with you. The fact that Ian is wandering around the square (in the state he was in when he first returned) and has yet to been seen by a medical professional is absurd.

This is Ian, who has has lived on the square his entire life. The whole square knows him, yet not one person has called a medical professional for him. Instead they are leading him around by the elbow, whilst the only sound he makes is his shuffling.

Though it doesn't boil my piss it does irk me somewhat. Needs a little realism ... and I have not even mentioned the whole Bobby saga yet.

I totally agree with you. Even though its a soap about people and their disastrous lives, they should at least have a responsibility to provide some reality around each scenario, especially as there are gullible people who would actually believe the garbage they write. Of course Ian would have been taken straight to the doctors and would have been admitted to hospital. But I suppose there wouldn`t be any disastrous storylines if they made all their characters rational. They have to be stupid to make the drama.

Plus its equally moronic to have Lucy saying she wishes he was dead - even someone as disturbed as her would be able to suss that he`s had a mental breakdown.

Just this..I don't know how serious/what exactly you meant but not nesacerily. My dad had more power over his adopted daughter (my half sister) than our mum.

In real life Christian would have spoken to Jane, even Tanya would have called especially after his return. Jane was also meant to have Bobby at certain times this has all been forgotten about so we can have Lucy Beale be the next Queen of Walford. It's ridiculous how they have just shown Lucy not being bothered that her Dad has been missing, she moved a man she knew for all of five minutes into her fathers house and is now wishing her mentally disturbed father dead. Instead of going to the police she went to Phil, Ian's arch nemesis and the man that frequently bullies him. Ian is in no fit state to look after Bobby and in reality Jane would have been the one that would look after him as his only sane next of kin, she adopted him and is legally his mother. But that would mean that we wouldn't have been subjected to weeks of Lucy trying to be a business woman and then trying to get her mentally ill father to sign over the house and businesses just to show that she is like her mother. The whole plot is down right stupid and completely unrealistic.

I understand this is why Phil is avoiding getting him to see a doctor but why doesnt Max / Tanya do it? Their concern for him seems genuine. They were all up for getting him to see a doctor when they found him so what made them change their mind? (sorry was not watching particularly closely during the olympics )
