Anyone else geeting really peeved with the bias/slant of ITT.
No offence to Claudia - but what about last night talk about a pro-Julian show. I love Julian - I think he's great but give the others a chance!

I'm still voting for Ian and Denise - am I the only one?!! Would definitely make a more interesting final!

Don't like Denise at all! Her facial expressions when she dances grates on me not to mention her arrogant attitude towards her partner just adds on to my annoyance to Denise.

Hope she goes out this Saturday.

Yes, I think perhaps Claudia went a liiiiitle too far last night in promoting Julian, and last week too she said "if Julian's not through this week I'll (do something I can't recall)". Now with Dairmund it was ok because we all knew he couldn't dance, he knew he coudln't dance, so it was sweet and supporting someone who was really trying. At the semi-final though it's a bit much to have such blatant support for one couple, plus Julian and Erin were only on last week and Jill and Darren have only been on once in the entire programme ( as far as I can recall).

Plus, no Aled and Lilia in the body language analysis at *all*, but rather we were shown the same video clip of Julian and Erin we saw only 5 minutes before !

As for Ian and Denise, I fear this is their last week. I would like to see them in the final too as it would be a *true* dancing competition, but alas Denise once again did not endear herself to the GBP last night, and depending on how much the voting public watches ITT it cold be bottom two or out for them this week. She was shown saying how quickly she picked up the dance steps and how Ian just needs to "relax" and he "should be fine", and then the body language experts analysis of Denise's attitude was fairly damning. I just think the GBP would rather vote for Julian who is conquering his fears, Aled who has shown himself to be incredibly funny and sweet and Jill who dances like a true dancer yet never expects she's going to be there next week than Denise who unfortuantely comes across as a bit arrogant and with an attitude problem. Even though she's lovely and a good dancer, I don't think that's enough to bring in the votes for the final.

I hope I'm wrong though, I want to see a Denise and Jill battle !

It was only one show - and it is lightweight as hell.

I think you could argue that it was more pro-Anton What with the on-going Win Anton comp and the report on the Christmas special.

Well after tonight's show, Friday 3rd, I think it's somewaht impossible to say ITT is not totally biased.

One minute Claudia says that yes, anyone could be out this week "except Jill or Aled" and then when ending the show and saying the loser will be with her on Monday she ends with "but don't let it be Julian." So er, you'll be wanting Denise out then ?

I thought ITT would aim for impartiality, but that was just ridiculous. I'm not a Denise fan, but even I thought that was a bit much.

The programme is seriously lightweight anyway - most viewers are probably intelligent enough to decide who they want to stay in the competition without listening to Claudia ramble on.

I thought the exact same thing. On tonites show that woman who does the costumes said anyone could leave on Sat and Claudia was like anyone except for Aled and Jill and at the end she said vote or one of the couples has to leave just make sure its not Julian. I mean come on! If that isnt unfair or biased towards Denise and Ian I dnt know what is. That Bonnie woman was going on about Denises's feet shes NOT a professional dancer. None of the celebrities are. I just wish that people would stop picking on them and show them like how they gloss over the highly overated Jill and Darren and Aled and Lilia. I mean think about it.....Jill and Darren are always seen laughing and joking as is Aled and Lilia. All we ever see are when Denise and Ian have an argument or sumthing and they always appear to be the diva-like couple when they're probably not.

Take that satement back andallthatjazz. Cant u see that that is the way BBC and ITT have decided to edit the VTs to portray Denise and Ian like that. I am sure she is not always like that, just like how Jill and Darren arent as pally, pally as they make out. They're doing it to keep viewers interested. Its like the whole Natasha/Camilla/Brendon thing. Now do not tell me that isnt just the publicity team feeding the press all that junk to get headlines and thus promotion and publicity for the show. Beleive me I know. I do Media Studies. BBC and the whole Stricly team have already decided who they want to win the show and who they want to be in the final. Jill they want to win, Julian needs to be there because he adds comic relief and 'character' to the show (Cos heaven forbid they rely on old dead on his leg Bruce) and Aled they need to appease hardcore Songs of Praise fans.....never thought the words hardcore and Songs of Praise would go together but heh.
Its like last year. They wanted Craplinsky.......sorry Kaplinsky to win from the get go and they kept in Parker because hes part of the team (In EastEnders so hey part of the BBC) I am totally frustrated because Denise isnt getting a fair go and heaven forbid a black person do sumthing worthwhile on the BBC. First it was Martin now Denise. Thats all Im saying.

Firstly, excuse me, but what makes you assume all Aled fans are 'Songs of Praise hardcore' ? That's a sterotype and an assumption. Aled is really popular amongst my peer group because he's shown himself to be a really good dancer and incredibly funny too and it has nothing to do with what he does for a living. Secondaly, this race rubbish was brought up in another thread, so please not again ! it's insulting and ridiculous. How convenient that the GBP is apparently 'racist' yet not homophobic or xenophobic, it couldn't possibly be that the public don't like Denise's performance could it ?!

It's stipulated in another thread why Denise isn't so popular and it has a lot to do with her attitude which may or may not be exaserbated by ITT. She's done well every other week bar one, but I think her videos on ITT and also on the pre-dance section last week were not flattering and she only has herself to blame for that.

Firstly let me just say I never mentioned the word 'racist' you did. Secondly why on earth would I accuse the BBC of being xenophobic or homophobic? I see no evidence to support that statement. Thirdly no I dnt think its just that the public dnt like Denises's performances because like u said she has been successful except the week of her Jive which everyone knows its not her dance. Yeah how convenient that everyweek the VTs at the pre-dance and on ITT all seem to focus on the one thing. Its like they have taken this idea and ran with it. Look at what happened to Sarah and Brendon. They had that one argument and it was oh Brendon being mean. After the made up the following week, the immediate week after that they had "clips" of them fighting and the atmosphere being tense. Now Sarah Manners actually came on to ITT to clear it up saying after that one spat where Brendon made her cry, they had a funky FIVE MINUTES and the rest of the lesson was fine but we didnt get to see that did we. All we saw was them being very uncomfortable and her telling Brendon to grow up. And another thing Im not being stereotypical. If u look at all the VTs and voice overs for Aled what do they say......Aled has a huge fan base from his Songs of Praise audience and from his music and concerts that he does all over the UK. And all this about him being a good dancer how come he gets such low scores each week. I will give him that he is the best male hands down but the guy is stiff from the knees up and do not even get me started on those hip thrusts. That was just plain unpleasant. I mean.......urgh. The only reason Aled is in is because 1 he has an already large fan base 9and there is no way on earth u can deny this) and 2 the BBC have edited him to suit their agenda. And what is this comedy of Aled I hear...he makes fun of Lilia and actually patronises her quite often. ha. ha. oh the comedy :sleep: :yawn:

I find Aled funny. Him and Lilia seem to be the only couple who from word go seemed to be having fun. Erin and Julian now that i dont think julian is just as nervous appear to be having fun. Denise's arrogance is driving me nuts. Shes been like that since week 1. If id been Ian id have lost it a long time ago. As SWONKY did say the race issue was mentioned on another thread for Denise getting low marks. Which is just absurd.
I do agree ITT seems to focus on the bad bits but thats what makes good TV. Like it or not. Brendan and Sarah was down to editing but lets face it. Theres really no love lost between them. The BBC just exploited something that was blantly obvious. And i'm a Brendan fan! The guy looked miserable most of the current series.
Going back to Aled and Lilia. I certainly dont find him patronising to her. Its just good banter that this series has been BADLY LACKING!!!

Oh dear what have I started?! Didn't intend this to be a slanging match. All of the competitors in the semi-final have done fantastically well. They all deserve to be there. But as Arlene and craig said last night this a dance competition - Julian deserves a medal but not a place in the final, Sorry all you Julian fans - he is great fun, and very amusing and it's fantastic that he's come so far.

This is a competition - yes Denise and Ian are very competitive, maybe to their detriment with the public vote, but they have done well.

Ok so what is my point - this is just a bit of fun! Think we're all losing touch with reality! It shouldn't be a slanging match, and enough of the character assassination. Yes we've all got our favourites - but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter who wins - It's just been great to watch some absolutely fab dancing. Come on guys - get a grip - what difference does this really make to the rest of your life?!!

Is there going to be doing a SCD 3? If so I think Brian from BB2 should be on and Nadia Almada. Now that I would pay millions, maybe more to see. Cant wait for the Christ Mass special. That should be good. Anton and Leslie back together as nature and truly God intended.

Well they should get rid of Bruce (sorry old chap) and get sum1 like Jimmy Carr to present it to get the banter up and the comedy rolling. Bruce and his creepy, archaic one-liners that use up time and gets godd-natured Len into a huff need to be taken away. I dnt know if anyone noticed but I'm quite sarcastic and I think Carr's ironic undertones will be great for the show. He'll be taking the mic without people even noticing. Jimmy Carr or Harry Hill I'm not fussy. They're both truly Gods amongst men.

Huh ? No, I'm talking about the voting public. The insinuation here and in other threads is that Denise is finding herself in the bottom two and/or probably not going to win because she's black. That's ridiculous. Wheter you direct that at the BBC or the GBP. We could also say Dairmud got voted out becuase he's Irish or Julian has been in the bottom two before because he's gay. It's all just ridiculous and I really can't believe anyone would pull out the race card, I'm sorry but I find that really pathetic.


Exactly. She's only been in the bottom two once before, and now last week. It's my personal opinion that her pre-dance video did a lot of damage to her with the voting public last week (telling Ian he wasn't fit enough, saying she deserved to be in the final etc. etc.). No one can deny she's a very very good dancer, certainly miles ahead of Aled and Julian, but this is also a popularity contest too like it or not, and the other three won that last week.


Yes that was five minutes out of god knows how many hours, but come on, you only had to look at those two to see the tension between them. Brendan was less than complimentary when he came on ITT the day before Sarah ("I don't think she had any respect for me, she let herself down") and all this after he'd made her cry and before he then went and slagged her off in the press. ITT is of course going to pick up the juicy bits, but it was there for the picking.


I've personally never heard Songs of Praise mentioned in association with Aled on ITT or in the VT's, and they showed a clip of three ladies at one of his concerts on one week. Even if they are Songs of Praise fans, so waht ? what's that got to do with anything ? We could moan that Denise has every athletics fan in the country voting for her, but it's not relevant.


He is good. Did you not see Quentin ? did you miss Dairmud ? He's nowhere near as good as Jill or Denise, but he's better than Julian and dances very well. I dont' know why he gets medicore scores or why Julian's dance got high scores last week (beyond me !). Arlene said the other day that they're not just marking on technique in this competition, they're marking on enthusiasm and dancing from the heart and Aled just hasn't quite thrown himself fully into his Saturday performances yet, so perhaps that could explain it ?

Top Gear fans, athletics fans, EastEnders fans, Comedy fans, Gardening fans etc. etc. They're in there because they're celebrities ! Aled works more for commerical Classic FM than he does the BBC now, yet athletics is only shown on the BBC so if anything Denise would fit their agenda more ! If we're being silly about this.

You've clearly missed how popular Aled is becoming. Even the editor of Heat magazine said he was the surprise of the competition and is getting a lot of magazine space. Everyone of my age group (20's) have been raving about how funny he is and who knew ("Oh my God, I've got man boobs !"). Perhaps you don't find him so, fair enough, but there's no denying that his profile has been greatly improved from SCD and a lot of new fans have found him and it's got nothing to do with Songs of Praise.

I have to vote for Julian - I've always adored him - but I gave equal votes to Denise. She's superb & so exciting to watch.

Ok I know this subject has nothing to do with the current thread but how robbed was Aled! I mean dnt get me wrong Julian is funny and everything but Aled is soooooo much better than him. His Paso was exciting and it worked really well. I know I mite have said a few harsh things about him but the guy was the best male celeb dancer. Hands down.

Trust me, if Claudia Winkleman is promoting someone it isn't necessarrly (spelling?) a good thing.

Claudia rather annoys me so her going on and on does not make me want to vote.

Might not have happened if Craig and Arlene hadn't conspired so obviously for Denise to win the judges vote in order to guarantee a place in the final and slate Julian so much.

I know ! And poor Denise in the bottom two again after dancing phenomonally, and I mean...gobsmackingly good. I personally love Jill and prefer to watch her dance, but there's no denying Denise deserves to be right up there with her. The idea that Julian- someone who just walked through the foxTROT and lumbered about in the JIVE really makes a mockery of this show.

How'd u work that one out? I know the British public cant think for themselves but thats a bit harsh. Im glad they worked to get her in the final but it was clear for a martian to see that Julian was weakest on the nite. They didnt need that harshness of the judges to see that. even he said its not right, its not right when he got through. What about the harshness to Jill and Darren?

U said it. I mean its clear I'm a Denise fan. Jill and Darren are good but they dnt have that charisma that Denise has in my humble opinion. I allowed myself......rarely........... to enjoy Jill's performance and suprisingly Aled's. I mean that Paso. I feel sorry for the guy. I really do. Whats wrong with u public?!
