This should be a new TV show

A pop act who walks away from showbusiness to become a hardnosed forensic detective

Heck, I wonder - if Cheryl had paid more attention in music class, I wonder if she could have been a singer, too?

RE: what Melissa, her niece. Cheryl adviced her to get a good education because Cheryl realised that it could not have turned out for Melissa the way it did for her.

I do think she could be forensic detective though maybe she regrets not working harder at school? But she's done great

I didn't think we had any forensic labs left after the latest round of government cutbacks.

I can imagine Cheryl putting someone in a forensic lab.

But good on you, girl. Always good to have a B Plan.

Very good advice to get an education as well.

I have a friend who did forensic science at uni who said after the class found out you don't need a degree to be a forensic detective loads of people dropped out after the first few weeks! I don't know if thats changed now tho this was about 6 years ago now.

I would think that a forensic detective would need much less qualifications than a forensic scientist. The detectives will have the basics, but it is the actual lab guys who do the real forensics.

Is there such a thing as a forensic detective? I thought that's the police do the hunting down suspects and stuff, crime scene investigators collect the evidence and then the lab monkeys do the analysing?

Exactly. It is Forensic Scientist (The lab geeks) or Forencsic Pathologist (Working on the dead bodies).

Lol, she could not even get the interview right.

Normally the forced humour on DS is AWFUL (I'm looking at you, jackbell), but I loved this
