I have a Windows 7 computer and an iPad 3 - I have been trying to transfer MP4 files to the iPad using iTunes on the computer but have only managed one so far as itunes keeps crashing.

Does this have to be done with iTunes or is there another more reliable program?

AcePlayer iPad app let's you add videos over WiFI, in the settings on AcePlayer is the URL to add files from a computer, takes about a minute to add a 175mb video and mp4 isn't the only file it plays.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a try. Not sure why itunes is constantly crashing - it's the latest version.

This.

AVPlayerHD is an excellent app. It will play "iTunes friendly" video files, but will also play avi, mkv and others.

Files can be transferred to it via an iTunes sync, or via the app itself using FTP.

I have managed to solve the prob although still using iTunes. I have tried it on a different computer with no prob so the original woe must be the computer I was originally using or the itunes on it.

Thanks for the replies.

Sounds like the ITunes is corrupted or something like that. You could try reinstalling it to see if it fixes things.
