Adric. But I love him all the more for it (in a non homo erotic "hey did you see the bears game?" kinda way.)
Also I thought the bad guys from the last Xmas special were quite wooden. |

Whoever plays the acting Prime Minster in Aliens of London / World War Three. Awful. Truly awful.

All of the companions in Davison's era were pretty awful actors, except for Turlough, who was passable, albeit he only had one expression. Ace was pretty unconvincing too, although luckily the character had some good scripting at least. Sylvester McCoy had some pretty embarrasing moments when trying to express anger. Away from the main cast the lighthouse keepers in Horror of Fang Rock come immediately to mind. There's been a lot of dodgy performances from people playing the smaller speaking roles as members of humanoid races or human colonies but to be fair those roles usually give the actor little to work with beyond exposition or stupidity. The Doctor has helped out quite a lot of feckless idiot races over the years. In the last series there was an hilariously unconvincing child in 'The Almost People'; although it seems a little churlish to nominate him he had me and my girlfriend cracking up for ages. Thinking of villains, I thought the 'headmaster' in School Reunion was pretty unconvincing (although the script was a turd, in his defence). |

Ace and the doctor have some pretty unconvincing scenes. I never believed she was that enthused about everything!

Lewis Fiander in 'Nightmare of Eden' - why was he allowed to get away with that cod-German accent...?

Oh my goodness - how this one didn't immediately come to mind, i have no idea:
Bruce Purchase as the Pirate Captain in 'The Pirate Planet'. An idiotic performance, from a guy who presumably doesn't know the word 'nuance', doing quite a lot to spoil one of the finest scripts Doctor Who has ever had. Personally, i'd have sacked him on the spot when he spoke his first lines of dialogue, were I the director; to Hell with the budget. |

I don't think it's nice to slag off actors! Some of them maybe were playing the 'character' as directed!
However, I must point out Jenny Tomasin (Revelation of the Daleks) as a bland individual. She played the same character in 'Upstairs Downstairs' and in 'Emmerdale'!! I know the lady has passed away since (bless her)! But she was certainly 'typecast' as a dumb-character! She was even cast in the original 'Crossroads' as a dim waitress! |

Brian is exactly the same in real life. His mum went to he same old folks centre as my gran when I was a young un and i met him a few times there. There was an old guy called Gordon who used to nap a lot and I wish I had a pound for every time I saw him jokingly check the guys pulse and boom "Gordon's aliiiive!!!!". You could hear his laugh halfway down the street. Absolutely brilliant character.

Neska from Planet Of The Spiders. It may be that she was directed to speak in a flat monotone so either it's bad directing, bad acting or both.......

Ha, yeah, he's brilliant, best voice ever and a bit like a drunk, more fun santa. One of the reasons I love Mindwarp, although he's not so good at playing a quiet person. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=...ture=endscreen |

I have to nominate Richard Briers for the Doctor Who Hall of Shame, for his cringe-makingingly appalling performance in Paradise Towers.
Truly, truly awful. However that pales into insignificance in the wider Doctor Who universe with the jaw-droppingly dreadful performance of Lachlan Nieboer as Jack Harkness's brother Grey in Torchwood. Nothing in Doctor Who, at least from a main character, comes close to that for a master-class in how not to act convincingly. Why they didn't chuck Mr. Nieboer out and re-cast him the moment they saw the rushes, regardless of the expense, is a great mystery!

Face of Boe. I mean, his lips didn't move in time with his voice. Bad acting right there.
