Hi guys.

Would just like to share with you all my love for a band called Counting Crows. They've been a large part of my life - seeing me through University in the early-mid nineties, marriage, and fatherhood.

Hopefully this thread will introduce them to some people who have never heard of them, and if just one more fan is made, that'll do me nicely!

Ill leave you with my all time favourite song - Goodnight Elisabeth.

Loved the first two or three albums - they were top drawer.

Last couple haven't been up to much though.

Counting Crows for me have never topped their debut. 'August and Everything After' is a brilliant album, and the follow-up 'Recovering the Satellites' is pretty good stuff as well. After that they seemed to lose their way - 'This Desert Life' is patchy at best, and while 'Hard Candy' is decent enough, no tracks stand out as being anything special. I've only heard odd tracks since then and nothing has inspired me to listen to their newer albums in full.

You've only missed one...you are as well trying it! My favourite is actually their second. Such good stuff.

I have to agree" August And Everything Ater" was and still is a classic! That album is so full of top tunes. 'Recovering the Satellites' is also a good album but i think they lost there way but saying that a really good band always have one classic album in them. Still a top band. Would love to see them live.

August and Everything After is a fantastic album. I love their cover of "Ghost in You" that was featured in the film Clueless.

Agree that their last two albums haven't been all that great, but some of the earlier stuff is fab. I love 'Accidentally in Love' from the Shrek 2 soundtrack.

I'm a rare Counting Crows fan in that I listen to Saturday Nights Sunday Mornings just as much as the early ones. They are one of the only bands I've heard whose quality hasn't, in my opinion at least, dropped at all throughout their albums. Except maybe Desert Life, but I suppose even that has Colourblind on it. Brilliant band.
