As per another thread we are both on I think that android users are starting to become more tech savvy. Many (the majority?) Of iPad early adopters were quite probably iPhone users and apple fans. They have a huge fan base.
Then for a long time they were the only real option so sold in millions.
Same with the iPhone.
Android now has a huge majority share in phones. Users are now starting to see the benefit of sticking to an ecosystem for phones and tablets (NFC bump between phone and tablet is strangely fun !)
The iPad has a huge head start but I think that android tablets will now start to gain more traction. I work in I.t. and the majority of people now buying tablets are buying android, whether its the transformer due to its unique design , the nexus 7 (as its currently cool) or the samsungs. I know I.t. is a niche and obviously more tech savvy but apple seems to have lost its cool. It used to be what us geeks loved - the lovable underdog - but that stance seems to have changed.
And from my kids perspective even the iPhone is no longer the cool thing to have ....
