One simple reason - Blackberry has a special tariff for worldwide use. I travel to New Zealand for long periods of time and they have a tariff which I pay £15 a month and have unlimited data usage.

As you can get all the google apps working on blackberry then everything is seamless and affordable.

I haven't found another phone/carrier combo which comes close to this!
Fir enough, it's been a while since I had a BB, didn't realise all the Google apps worked on it.

Yeah the three items work nicely alongside each other.

The laptop is my main work device which is plugged into the network wherever I happen to be.

The blackberry means that apart from when I am on a plane (or the golf course!) I am always contactable and can pick up emails/gtalks/calendar reminders etc.

The nexus 7 is my toy but it still has the google apps if I need to check calendar/gtalk etc.

Laptop and nexus do need wifi/network but the BB 3G keeps me going in between.

Google talk is missing off that - I use that all the time on my blackberry.

I have an iPad 2 and a Nexus 7. To me they meet different requirements. The Nexus 7 is a great tablet I'd say. I have been pleasantly surprised by JellyBean, and I'd say the build quality of the device itself is good. It could do with a back facing camera in my view, but I imagine that'd appear in the next iteration (you know, like it did with the iPad).

I can imagine popping my Nexus 7 in my work bag probably a bit more than my iPad, simply because it's a bit smaller, and has the same apps that I use on a regular basis (Kindle, Chrome, Twitter, Email).
