Saddest/Weepy Movies
Don't ask why but i've been in the mood recently for watching films that are sad and see if they make me cry.
So far I have watched PS I Love You, The Notebook and Marley and Me. PS I Love You - I found this film extremely sad although I didn't cry at it perhaps through the lack of time you see how the main characters are together. The Notebook - This film I have now seen a few times and by the final scene I am left unable to watch due to tears. I feel it may be how touching the ending is (not to give away any spoilers) Marley and Me - As upsetting as I found this film, it didn't reduce me to tears (very close though) perhaps due to the fact I do not or never have owned a dog. I do however understand how many people do find this the most upsetting film ever made. Does anybody have any other films I should add to my list or any opinions? Thanks |

You'll cry buckets after watching Requiem For a Dream and Grave of the Fireflies. Just utter misery and despair throughout.

Me too!
I love dogs but can't bring myself to watch Marley and me. The Robots on Silent Running were adorable and that ending... omg ![]() Grave of the fireflies is a definite tearjerker. I also find myself watching The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. That was not a happy movie. Oh and The Killing Fields and Old Yeller and Beaches and Schindler's list... |

Can't have a thread like this without anyone mentioning Grave of the Fireflies.

"Sometimes it makes me sad, though... Andy being gone. I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend."
The only film that nearly made me lose it
