Do you think any of these three characters could be upgraded to regulars?

Crisp- this tough cop could have a young family and move onto the Square

Marsden- I would imagine that Marsden is divorced possibly with a teenage son or daughter

Richie- the show is lacking a lesbian character at the mo, an elder lesbian character in form of Richie may be interesting

I'm thinking a police spin-off with these three...

I really like DCI Marsden because her history with the show delves right back 11 years when she first appeared for the 'Who shot Phil?' storyline, and ever since she's had this hate-hate relationship with the Mitchells.

She's also a fairly bad police officer - she doesn't do things by the book (in fact, said book would surely be thrown at her after the way she discounted Ben's confession last night!?) and she's got this personal vendetta against Phil and his family. Makes for good drama though.

How about Marsden and Philth having a one night stand? Might spice things up!

I would love Marsden and Crisp to come in and be regulars. I would also love it for her to become a gf of Phil. Not so much with Ritchie-Rich..

With all the crime that happens on that small square pretty sure Crisp or Marsden would have plenty to do

This. I'm truly surprised people actually live in Walford. Its crime demographic must be the same as London itself!

Yeah when Roxy and Janine got there millions, who the hell would actually still be there with that sort of money. Plus pretty sure you be a target by some serious well dodgy people after you

Same with all soaps, every crime and it's the same officer(s) who turn up to each one. Very easy to charge or lock up innocent people but when people confess, they don't believe them.

Yes Marsden, you get passed up for promotion 4 TIMES (?). I wonder why ?

I love Marsden and Ritchie its always a treat when they pop up expectedly. I dont think either would work as regular characters though. Ritchie was first hired by Peggy to get Phil out of jail in 2005 and she has appeared at least once every year since then. Marsden has also appeared on a number of different occasions dating back to 2001. I think its great its adds a touch of familiarity, to my knowledge no other soap has recurring character (police, lawyers etc) who keep returning.

Only person out of those 3 I could see that working would be with Marsden.

Iif it did happen though I'd imagine it to be only temporary.

If you ask me I much prefer them as recurring characters.

You know you're ****ed whenever Ritchie has to be sent for!

Marsden loses her job and moves into the bins outside Phils house to continue keeping tabs on him. She uses his discarded ready meal trays and tissues to construct a shrine in honour of him which she worships every night before curling up at the bottom of his wheelie bin with the pair of Y fronts with broken elastic he chucked in there.

Eventually Jean goes rooting in the bins on one of her insanity trips, discovers Marsden, and has a deep philosophical conversation with her. Marsden realizes that Phil will never love so becomes a lesbian with Ritchie and the two leave to travel around Germany in a VW van with a heavy-set black woman called Thelma.

Crisp arrives looking for Marsden who he's deeply missing, to reveal his love for her. After Jean reveals that Marsden is now a lesbian Crisp has a breakdown and begins prostituting himself, mistakenly thinking the meaningless sex is a worthy replacement for a relationship. Phil comes to visit him not realising who "Krispy Kream" really is, both are very embarrassed, and never speak a word of the incident to anyone.

Sorted.

Every time she arrives she looks really annoyed like she's being majorly inconvenienced. I think she has better things to do. Maybe she writes poems for greetings cards and only moonlights as a hotshot lawyer?

Of course she would be, I bet you she is sick to the back teeth of The Mitchells!

But when you think of The Mitchells you then associate Ritchie with them

Haha. This made me majorly laugh out loud! But hadn't really seen it before how she looks like she is majorly inconvenienced, but your so right! Personally I think she could be a dominatrix.
