Would a Julia's Theme have suited the end of yesterday's episode? (EE)
As Ben sat there alone in the dark, I reckon a Julia's theme could've worked tbh - it provided the conclusion to a long-running storyline and the end of a character who has appeared on and off in the show for 16 years
For me, the duff duffs didn't work |

Well no, because it's not the end of the character.

Personally, I think it would have worked if the screen had faded to black and the credits rolled with no sound at all.

No, it would have been so distracting if they'd used it. Then again, the duff's didn't compliment the scene either. I agree with the idea of silent/ black credits for endings like that, it makes it all the more chilling.
I like Julia's theme, but a bittersweet piano melody over that shot of Ben would have been SO cringey. It was way too dark a moment. |

It must be a guess from that line in the spoilers that says Phil receives a phone call from the prison. Didn't we suggest Ben killing himself in a PM during the week, to explain the line about Phil having to say an emotional goodbye to someone he really loves, because it didn't fit in with Shirley taking a break when Carly comes back?

Why would they kill off Ben, they could bring him back in 15 years with a recast. A Mitchell fresh out of prison in his early 30s. No idea how old Ben is but according to wikipedia. .
"Life imprisonment is only applicable to defendants aged 21 or over. Those aged between 18 and 20 are sentenced to custody for life. Those aged under 18 are sentenced to detention during Her Majesty's pleasure for murder, or detention for life for other crimes where life imprisonment is the sentence for adults. However people under 21 may not be sentenced to a whole life order, and so must become eligible for parole." First parole hearing is after 15 years. |
