Didn't know being rude is a good trait these days!!. It is possible to tell people no without half destroying them and coming over as a bitch. Didnt warm to her at all.

What amazes me is how on earth that other woman is a judge on the X Factor and Mel B isn't. So much better.

Mel B, Tulisa and Gary Barlow seem to take a weird pleasure in humiliating people.

It's not pleasant to watch - just pretty unnecessary, and not entertaining for me personally. Your mileage may vary.

I wonder what Mel B would say if Mel B were up there.

Not enough harshness on X Factor in a long time now. Thankfully Mel B brought some back. Some people go on the show now expecting a much easier ride than they should get.

Although I dont mind Nicole it amazes me its took this long to get Mel B on the UK panel even if it's just a guest stint I loved her. I wasn't expecting much tbh as I saw Dan Wootton bashing her earlier on twitter but after watching tonight I realised he was lieing and remembered he's a hater of her and constantly bashing her at any given chance.

I thought it was a bit harsh when she called that girl "bum-smella henderson".

No, you can only say bad things when hidden behind a computer screen, we all know that

She aint all that anyway, never liked her, think she is carp as a singer and now i think she is not a very nice human being, the way she spoke to that old guy there was no need for it. The show is just too produced now with bad scripts and acting.

I'm bored of seeing old people coming on these shows and wheezing out some overdone song in the auditions. Maybe it's cruel to say but I don't find it heartwarming on nice. Just a waste of time. I know they might be doing it for a few reasons... loneliness etc... so I have nothing against them being allowed to audition but I don't particularly care to see it on the TV broadcast.

Agreed though that Mel B is amazing and funny. She should have been on the panel instead of Nicole Whosit

X-Factor has been running for 9 years now. I think some contestants see it as an opportunity to get a bit of fame or money. This gives the show and the music industry a bad name and it feels like they sometimes lose the whole point of the show. The same old stories being mensiond year after year (oh I'm so shy/ I've never sang in public/ I'm doing this to get the girls and a new car/ my goldfish died which gave me the strength to pursue my dream) is really annoying! I'm glad Mel was quite harsh. I think if there was someone like that perminantly it would reduce these annoying contestants.

I saw a few clips and I thought she was a b**ch. It was so rude. She could have said that she didn't like it without being so mean. I felt bad for that poor kid that she called irritating even though he was a great singer. It's like his idol crushed his heart even though he did a good job. But then again, I'm American. We are softies haha.

Simon's put downs were clever. Unlike Mel B who was just like a rude petulant child. Not at all entertaining or pleasant to watch.

Imagine what she would have said to the Nandos kid. It would have not been pretty. Nicole was really nice about it.

Well, I DID like that nice photo of her they showed when they introduced her, which was all knockers and very prominent niplage. Of ALL the stock photos they could have pulled of her...

Just continuing from my post above. I do think there is a line between saying it as it is and being rude which I think Mel did cross, however, it was quite refreshing to finally see a judge not falling for the contestants who come with the typical same old 'story'.

I loved her as a judge on last nights show. Hope they try and get her to be a permanent judge next year. Makes a change having a judge say how it is rather than saying things like go away and work on your voice and try again next year.

I thought she was sour faced and needs to work through some issues of her own before she can start judging people . As for being spot on with her critiques , she was way off with the " Candyman" singer , fair enough she was right about a lot of the others but big deal !

Was she though, really. He was a bit irritating.

And I bet not everyone at home liked him, it made a nice change to have someone who didn't just love everyone the other judges loved.

Imagine how different we could have had last year if she was there to sway the others away from the likes of Cocozza, or prior years, Cher and Weasel.

That guy won't have appealed to everyone watching, so it's not wrong to have someone on the panel that he didn't appeal to.

Oh my God, I thought Mel B was brilliant and rude or not, she said it how she saw it. I've been beyond frustrated with how nicey, nicey the show has become. These people know what they're in for, they chose to audition for God's sake. If they don't want to be cut down in public, don't go on Xfactor. There are three other judges there who will do the constructive criticism bit, I just want somebody who says exactly what I'm thinking. The old man coming on and talking about his wife then going on to croak his way through a song, has been the kind of thing that the majority of DS members have been complaining about for years, it's about time somebody just shut it down. Enough of the sob stories already!

She was a refreshing change, and honestly I'd be more inclined to tune in every week if she was on the panel. And let's face it, her opinion would be the one that all the contestants would be waiting with bated breath for. In the same way, that we all used to wait for Simon's comments, before he decided to become Mr Nicer.
