How can you tell if someone is a Dr Who fan?

To start off, the obvious answer, is if someone is wearing a Dr Who T-shirt.

I know this, as I was in Bournemouth recently and saw a person with a Dr Who T-shirt on a yellow bus.

Any other answers?

I had to pop round a colleagues house today. Her five year old son bought out his ENTIRE collection of Doctor Who figures to show me; he had loads and knew all of the characters names He also had the Tardis control room - he pointed out a little section where he thinks the Doctor may sleep - bless. I get the impression he is a massive Doctor Who fan

I recently went to a wedding and there was a little boy dressed up as the Doctor running around with a sonic screwdriver, complete with a bow tie and everything! He came to 'sonic' me and I told him 'bow ties are cool'. He looked very impressed with me.

Well, according to the boy I met today, there's a bit under the stairs where the Doctor rests his weary head...

Excellent The young lad showing me his collection looked at me like I was stupid when he showed me a figure and I asked who it was. It went a bit like this: " it's the Master "

Ask them who Susan Foreman is. Any fan knows this answer.

I'm a 'fan' of Doctor Who ....but the only thing I've got to show it is a Tardis money-box (Tennant & Rose) and a Dalek tee-shirt [both were bought for me!] I treasure them though!

My housemate has the theme tune as her ringtone, so everyone knows she's a DW fan when her phone rings

Compare Doctor Who to Star Trek (particularly TNG)

... if they are a proper Doctor Who fan they will be sick with disgust

They correct casual viewers they don't know in pubs and get duffed up.

I find myself often saying "wibbly wobbely, timey wimey" when someone starts picking holes in something I just said. Should make it clear to anyone who watches that I'm a fan

Oh and when I'm bored and tapping my fingers on a desk it's almost always the four beats of a Time Lord's heart

Watch which way their facial expression goes when you get to the end of 'you're a beautiful woman, probably'.

If, whilst on the bus, you hear a conversation somebody is having on a telephone which includes

"What? I'll phone you back"

Followed by hearing the audio from the Asylum of the Daleks trailer then back on the phone

"F**king hell, I'm literally pishing myself Stuart".

I couldn't stop laughing

When they are within close proximity to a gas mask they have the uncontrollable urge to say "Are you my mummy?"

When David Cameron is on TV, say "Don't you think he looks tired" and see how they respond . . .
