Regarding Gary's comments saying Jahmene 'over-sang'...

I wasn't wild about the song choice for him, but I'm glad he did really well and got a good reaction.

I thought Gary's comment was constructive, and I'm not Gary's biggest fan. With some songs he might detract from a really good melody with the vocal runs (I thought that about the Shirelles cover). In that performance it suited the gospel style just fine though.

Yono Ono tweeted him saying his version of Imagine was "beautiful" . High praise indeed

I'm interested to see what he does next week. I think some of them are really suited to heartbreak and sad stuff, whereas Jahmene seems more smooth. Wouldn't mind something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLlBzu2LRPA, but he should do something much more contemporary after last week.

Love Jahmene, think his audition will always stick in my mind, along others. Think given the right songs he will do well in the competition
