"Killing Me Softly" is the first thing I thought of that has a darker theme. Songs that are classic but have contemporary covers are often good choices.
Speaking of which, I wonder if Jahmene helped District 3 learn "Beggin'". Good luck to Jahmene! |

Solid performance. It was interesting to hear him sing something off the sheet too. There's room for both styles, but it goes to show that just his normal singing voice is flawless on its own.
I like the contrast when he descends low (like the "with her sohhhh-ohh-ong" bit). It has a really hollow and musical tone. Good judges comments and crowd response. Should sail through to next week. I wonder what kind of music he'd like to make in the future. |

We had visitors last night so I couldn't watch the show or come onto the forum - so I'm catching up now
![]() It sounds like he did really well this week - I've taped it so looking forward to seeing him

I'm not sure if it was his best, but he was still among the best of the night.

I hope Jahmene doesn't win the show - too much pressure and male winners always do badly in the long run. I'd like him to be the first or second runner up and produce an album like Rebecca Ferguson. Retro soul, perhaps with a gospel twist.
He'd do a good version of Cohen's Halleluljah. |

If he gets to the Final, finishes second or third and lands a record deal I'll be happy.
![]() I also hope he's one of the few that never hit bottom two

Great performance last night, comes close to Alexandra's version but shame all the judges didn't give him a standing ovation for that.

A few on the forum are talking of the over singing again. They have vocal coaches, why don't they teach him how to control it.better, it's what they're there for
![]() I taped the show and haven't had time to watch it yet by the way, so I'm just going by comments I've read

Just watch the performance on YouTube
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Right I've done that. I've got to be honest...there were a couple of places he sounded off key ![]() But the 'vocal gymnastics' actually weren't as OTT as I expected, and apart from the 'off key' moments it was actually very good .

Nicole needs to give him a decent song this week, something that he can control his voice over (as there was some off-key points on Saturday when he sang Listen).

Thing with the oversinging is the songs are too short so he tries to pack as much in, which includes all the runs etc. He might be thinking his voice isn't enough and he needs to pack it out with all the bells and whistles - he doesn't.
I'd like to hear him do a nice ballad-led acoustic song, stripped back and soft next week. |

He is singing Angels by Robbie Williams tonight apparently.
I'm not sure how this'll turn out. |

Fabulous performance of Angels.
He just gets better and better. Whatever happens on the show - he has a big career ahead.
