I totally agree with you and I believe he will sell a lot of records in the USA which is a much bigger market that the UK anyway.

But I think people here on DS don't actually care whether they are later proven wrong, they just like slagging people off and I must admit I'm getting a bit fed up with it.

I really don't get where all that vitriol comes from. Do you?

It's definitely because of the lack of success male winners have had in the past. Matt has actually done well for himself with a top 10 album outside of Syco, but that's after everyone already labelled him a "flop" after his first single after XF (the one written by Gary) only went to #6 and the album went to #2. Joe McElderry has managed 2 top 10 albums since leaving Syco, and 3 top 10 albums in total.

However, Jahmene has a completely different market, and there is a market for that. He'd do well in the 'soul' market, or basically a market where people buy music just based on the artists voice, i.e look at how successful Susan Boyle is. Maybe he could follow the route of Cee Lo Green?

I hope Jahmene does an extraordinary performance in the next few weeks so everyone does realise him as the winner.

Me too.
Now I'm going to check out Cee Lo Green on youtube.

Just saw and heard Cee Lo Green for the first time.

Well, what can I say? I think the music would suit Jahmene, the lyrics wouldn't. Maybe I listened to the wrong song.

Yes, considering he doesn't want to sing anything degrading to women etc, but he could do that style of music. How about Bruno Mars?

I would like that. But what I like about Bruno Mars' singing most is the fact that he sings his songs in a clear and very simple way, showing off his voice very well. Jahhmene likes his vocal runs so I'm not sure if that would work. But I'm pretty sure he could sing the way Bruno Mars does if he wanted to.
Sometimes I think, even though we have heard him sing quite a few times now, we don't really know what else he is capable of.
And I have high hopes, I think he could sing just about anything.

We'll have a better idea this weekend when he sings Abba and Motown.

I can see him doing something like 'Superstition' (Marcus did it well last year). Not sure which Abba song would be best for him. Nothing too umptempo - has he done uptempo yet? He might surprise us

Yeah, you never know. I'm hoping for a bit of movement.
But nobody seems to be able to come up with a good ABBA song for him.
Dancing Queen?

He done that with angels.
He will never please the majority on the main forum.

Possibly, but sometimes I think there's more to it than that.
It's almost as if some people actually enjoy making other people feel bad about themselves.
I had a small exchange with someone who posted a few nasty things this evening (same thread as you, and you encountered him too) and in a private exchange he told me it was all only just banter. He simply refused to see that his posts could actually be painful for some people to read, leaving me a little frustrated.
I always want to believe in the good in people.
I guess the anonymity of DS makes cyberbullying too easy. What do you think?

Unfortunately with the internet it's easy to post with anonymity .
Sometimes people do it just to get a reaction . Just sad bored people with nothing better to do.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though

You're probably right, but, you know, that guy was actually well-educated. I just expect more from people who are not as thick as two short planks.

Hahahahahaha, look at this, isn't it really cute?

Jahmene, James and Rylan singing together and Jahmene even dancing a bit. I've never seen him so relaxed!

By that I mean something that is standing ovation worthy (from the judges).

I don't think it has anything to do with Ella, actually.

I only registered on DS to be able to post here. I wanted to reply to a post of yours, one Saturday when you posted 'I am very excited' and nobody replied. But DS made me wait 2 full days until they allowed me to get started. By then the thread had gotten pretty quiet for a while.

Now I'm posting here all the time.

Did you see the little clip I added earlier on? It's really cute.

Maybe it's got something to do with the fact we're closer to the final. I can't imagine how nervous he would be feeling about performing at Manchester Central.

But back onto this week, what could he be singing? What would suit his voice?

Any Motown song anyway, but I still have no idea which ABBA song would work for him. I never was much of an ABBA fan anyway.

3 out of the 4 judges gave him a standing ovation in the 1st live show ( Gary didn't stand )
Maybe they will all stand when he wins

That's true.
The worst case scenario for me would be him and James in the bottom two.
With all these weird things going on around Chris and to some extent Rylan as well, they are bound to get lots of sympathy votes and could both easily get through.

The last thing I want is to see James or Jahmene in the bottom two, never mind them both. I hope people have learnt their lesson after last week, to pick up the phone and vote if they like an act.

Many people on the MF think he'll be in the bottom two, he needs the votes!
