That would be why I can always instantly refute your "points".

(Just kidding.)

I don't dislike Soph either, BTW. I'm glad she's still there. I just think her fans are seeing her as better than she is, and others as worse than they are; but the same could be said of fans of the others.

Have an open mind, I say; and be charitable. They're all mixtures of good and bad, and they're more interesting for it.

Well you try to refute my points ...unsuccessfully in my opinion!....but thats your opinion and mine is my opinion, thats all!....we will have to simply agree to disagree.
Personally i think I am seeing things realistically re. Sophie and the others.

We all perceive things differently but the name of the game is to get to the truth and the truth always comes out in the end!

If people were aiming for the truth, they wouldn't do so much spinning and selective use and distortion of the evidence.

Yes!...the wicked witch must die but unfortunately i think Veri will be voting for her to stay in tonight!...I`ve done my best to persuade her otherwise but to no avail!

The tabloid newspapers' take on Sophie is very interesting.

I think it's fair to say that over the last couple of years the tabloids' gossip pages, such as The Mirror's 3am, have presented a generally unfavourable impression of Sophie.

She's had very public drug and relationship problems, and the papers have built coverage on this, portraying a negative character with no apparent redeeming qualities.

Speaking personally, this doesn't jibe with the Sophie Anderton I've seen on IAC. However, the tabloids still persist in taking a very negative view, as if refusing to relinquish that copy-filling hate-figure that's worked so well for them.

I'd almost lay odds that if Sophie won this programme, unlikely as I believe that to be, the tabloids would be forced to eat crow and reverse their stance.

It's far from my sole motivation for supporting Sophie, but one of the benefits of seeing her advance even further in this contest would be the satisfaction of watching the self-serving tabloid press humbled.

Sophie has got to you. 14 days of goody two shoes behaviour all in an effort to win our votes does not cut it for me. I don't trust her.

Past misbehaviours as reported were not made up and she can't reform in 14 days in the jungle.

It is the favourite tactic of FMs, next to unfounded accusations of racism and anti-Semitism, to ask the "what-about-this-and that" questions to divert the focus from the original topic at the heart of the argument in the first place to win an argument.

I cannot recall (at this time) the online term for it, but if I do, I would be sure to revive this thread just for you

The topic is Sophie and her quest for victory by 24/7 bikini wear. Not Natalie, Sheila or Nancy. Finding no excuse in support of your position, out popped the "what-about-this-and-that " questions. All too predictable.

Diva Sheila's "leather beachwear" is not the topic, that was why I made the effort to steer the discussion back on track.

She was lying down on her bed for the most part when in bikini garb, not prancing about in a two-piece skimpy bra-and-thong ensemble suitable only for your average model desperate for a bikini contract. ”

I feel honoured - you responded to my comment twice!! - good cop and bad cop mode?

And personally I think Shelia should get that bikini contract - it takes guts at her age, horrendous though the costume was!

Now you realise that if the topic is 24/7 Sophie bikini wear, you're going to have to explain the attractive red fleece she wore while asking for votes tonight!

ps - I didn't have a tactic - or a tictac - I just thought that since JSP's garb was fair game in this thread, we might include the other ladies as well. Personally I think Janet's swirly halterneck is keeping her in the jungle. The colours are causing ex-addicts to relive some beautiful trips...

It's Friday, and Sophie's bikini has been retired.
The point of this thread has been proved, and therefore I have no problems with dishing out all round.

And the realitytv crossover is complete! We can feel the love in this thread - or are we still just watching Jordan and Pete!

*Mwah*!

I believe it's an illusion caused by watching Jordan attempt to sing in a voice worse than Nadia's.

!!! Yes! You know it's just such an unfathomable concept, but she is indeed far, far worse than Nads! We must pray for her silence - if Katie were to cover A Little Bit of Action, it might finish the reality genre for good!

You can't buy talent as you buy inflated boobs, and of course, any record she puts out will bomb, even if they give it out free in the her various pub openings.

That would then teach the idiot moneybags who insist on taking us for fools by forcing on us hopeless and talentless horrors otherwise known as pop singers/reality TV contestants all for a quick buck.

Not at all. Sophie has an incredible body and I've very much enjoyed seeing it

Hasn't made me part with a single penny for votes however.

No - I am not surprised that there a few thousand teenage boys who vote on the basis of bikini size. But their votes clearly aren't significant enough to affect the overall vote - given the past relative failures of Nell, Catalina, Jordan, Nancy etc.

These women may think that wearing as little as possible gains them votes - but for every teenage boy who votes for them, there's likely to be a gaggle of censorious prudes who don't vote for them because they are "dressing like a tart".

I agree with you completely. And the proof is the exit of dear Sophie, inspite of the near-nakedness she resorted ever so blatantly.

The point about Sophie is that she actually believed that "wearing as little as possible gains " votes, hence her comments in the Bush Telegraph regarding how she sees herself as "eye candy". I guess she even felt superior to JSP with her comments to Paul that she would be the last woman left.

It is unlikely that when the home stretch is reached and the numbers sufficiently reduced, an woman who fancies herself as "eye candy" would not try to gain favourable votes and stand out with more skin on view.
