Mr Khan - Communty Leader (that's how he pronounced it in the first episode especially )

Nice to see people have grown to like it over the course of the series

Technically speaking, Andrew Sachs is German.

As for Citizen Khan, I thought the whole series was hilarious and I recorded every episode so as not to miss any.

If they intended to smooth the hard edges off a typical non-Muslim British view of Muslims then based on my own impressions I think they have done a very good job.

The series reminded me of East is East, which appears to have been a strong influence.

I'm looking forward to the next series. I think it has the potential for a lot more than just a second 'consolation' series for the producers.

One thing I forgot to say about the last episode was how I was quite surprised in how Mr Khan backed down on Shazia saying "so what and what if I had loads of boyfriends or been out with the whole town". I don't think that fits with the character or the religion that plays quite a big part in the programme.

I'm not saying he would have to get heavy in general, but to have gone into that laying down the law kinda speech he did over the pilgramage package he won that time.

Its comedy so they can't get too much into a drama but having said that they have done in other comedy's so maybe they should have played it out that had Shazia not backed down from the rebelious views that he would have looked at disowning her and it should have been her who backed down.

The last episode was better than I had expected to be, I have to say. There are still some parts which got on my nerves, but overall I thought it was alright.

if you're talking about Fawlty Towers, Andrew Sachs is actually German

I did think the first episode was pretty poor but I always give sitcoms another chance and glad I did, not the best comedy of all time but I found it funny and really took to it, can't wait for series 2!

If there's anyone who watched all six episodes and knows the plot etc, and has good grammar (a 15-year-old definitely doesn't) then I request that someone write a series synopsis for the series on Wikipedia in the relevant section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen_Khan

If you're looking for ideas, look at this series synopsis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracy_Beaker_Returns, as you can see it points out the characters development etc.

Seems it's coming back for it's second series in August.

I hope they leave all the Islam stuff out this time.

I like the show, can be quite comical at times and is well worth watching.

I think that part of the BBC's policies are to show the UK the diversity that we have here, and how better to do it than create a comical sitcom.

There is a Comic Relief special (which will be shown during the telecast). Taken from the whole press release:

11.05pm - Jonathan Ross and Jack Whitehall are at the helm, joined by former Doctor Who David Tennant, while Citizen Khan travels down from Birmingham.

That catchphrase is what makes the show a success!

It's funny how many people hated it at first, but by the end they love it!
