Are you talking about the bit on Comic Relief or the show itself?

The new series is back in August, and I presume they are filming in the summer. Anyone going to see a recording?

Ben Elton's new sitcom makes me look at CK in a whole new, appreciative, light.

For any Radio 4 listeners Khan occasionally calls in on the Down The Line show every Wednesday at 6:30pm

Is there going to be a new series this year? Funny I was just thinking about this yesterday.

That's silly. They should have given it an Eid special instead.

Oh right. I seem to recall the Facebook page stating that recordings begin in a few days. Anyone going?

And have the BBC miss a golden opportunity to promote Islam during the major Christian festival? No chance.

But Muslims don't celebrate Christmas, that's the thing. It would create even more controversy.

It has been given a Christmas special. Expect a large amount of complaints from Muslims alike on the night. Anyone been to a taping of the new series?

Roughly a month to go until it's back on our screens

We're talking about British Muslims. That is Muslims who live and work in Britain amongst British people. Therefore Muslims (and Hindhus, Jews, Siekhs etc.) certainly observe Christmas even if they don't celebrate it. Khan is a bumbling baffoon. He is always trying to impress the community, regardless of what religion they are. Therefore of course he's going to observe Christmas. It is likely to involve a big, brash event that involves tacky (he wouldn't select classy) Christmas imagery. That is what his character is, a brash, loud Muslim family fan who believes himself more important than he is. If muslims complain they need to get a life.

What were your favorite moments of the last series?

One of my favorites has to be Mr Khan sat in the office singing that Tom Jones song.

I can't stop laughing at the scene where me khan trips over someone in the mosque and the line tumbles like skittles

I think it was in the episode where Amjad thought shazia was having an affair???

I think it was.

I've heard it's probably back in September. The sooner the better!

Jason Byrne's new sitcom Father Figure, which I believe was originally down to partner Big School in the 9pm hour tonight, is now supposed to be starting in September.

Maybe BBC1 will surprise us (or shock us) by running a pre-watershed comedy hour on Wednesday or Thursday at 8pm. [Doubt it, though]

Father Figure - I think that will end up taking the 10:35pm Monday slot, and Citizen Khan being brought back to 9pm at least.
