It was higher than A Question of Sport, and not far behind Not Going Out, although you could argue all three shows' ratings are underwhelming.

How has this been given another series? It's not even funny.

I like it. Admittedly some episodes are better than others, but the ones that are have raised a lot of laughs which is why i've kept watching.
What's interesting is the timeslot. Series 2 was on at 9.30pm, this time around it's earlier and being shown at 8.30pm. Have no idea if there will be a new 'Dave'. At the end of the day it's a bit of fun. Those who moan can watch Mrs Brown's Boys instead! ![]() |

Loved the first series and loved the first episode of this series, it just cracks me up! And the actress who plays Alia is gorgeous.

I like watching it ... because for me it falls in to the 'so bad it's good' category. As others have said it ticks certain boxes so is no doubt given that bit more slack.

But it is absolutely true that 'Goodness Gracious Me' and Citizen Khan' contain the type of racial stereotypes that would mean if it was penned by a white writer he would be drummed out of town, and never work again. Citizen Khan does have a few funny moments- but it really is back to ''Mind Your Language' territory- the only difference being it's okay because it has an Asian writer, and not an English one. |

However, that doesn't stop the usual suspects, who are probably different, from complaining on their behalf. |

Indeed, it certainly seems to pass the test of people being able to take the piss out of their own kind.
However, that doesn't stop the usual suspects, who are probably different, from complaining on their behalf. So what does Adil Ray come up with- a racial stereotype, with a funny accent. Very 1970's- but, apparently that was the idea all along. I keep wondering if Adil Ray will be brave enough to give the younger daughter a white boyfriend. It would have plenty of comedy potential- as she is the apple of his eye. But, maybe he is afraid that would upset people too much. I keep thinking that the real potential for comedy is the younger daughter- but she never gets any further than one or two lines a show. A wasted opportunity (so far). |

I enjoyed the first series, and the second series, while not as good as the first, was OK.
However, judging by the first episode, this series seems to have reverted to the 1970s. Do I take it there'll be an episode where they join a 'neighbourhood watch' type organisation, go off to a meeting - and, to the audience's surprise, their house is burgled while they're all out? Sorry, but my views on this programme have nothing to do with race or religion : it's just not funny. |

The thing is, for Citizen Khan to succeed it has to appeal to more than just a muslim audience- or it wouldn't get recomisioned.

A wasted opportunity (so far). This show is aimed more at South Asian Muslims if we are going to say that. I am of south asian descent and I am muslim and I certainly tried to watch Citizen Khan and unable to even raise a smile. It was bad. Not funny at all. Let's be honest, comedy is better left with white folk. Little Britain, Modern Family, Grumpy old..., Middle, you name it, it is genius! My aim in life is now to be Phil Dunphy. |

I'm still enjoying it, i treat it as a standard sort of disaster comedy where somethings always going wrong. It could be written for any race etc with pretty much only a few changes as its the usual bloke find himself with a problem and then he fluffs it up getting into more and more trouble until it blows up in his face (sort of like keeping up appearances with samosas)

This last episode was funny. I't's silly but you can't help laughing.
Taking the pee out of his fellow countrymen , but not in a nasty way, is its appeal |

Wonder if they'll have an episode where one of the daughters thinks about running away to Syria to join ISIS!
