Frankie Boyle C4 Sat
I've just watched Frankies "If I could reach out through your TV and strangle you I would" which was on Channel 4 last night.
Does anyone have the DVD of this show ? How much was cut out ? |

There was a sound drop out too, unless my box is playing up?

I wonder how thick his own skin is? Not very if the retort about John Humphreys was anything to go by. He can sure dish it out, but taking the incoming fire he can't. He really is nowhere close to as amusing as he obviously thinks he is. That audience only came alive to the Cameron jibe. Most would anyway. Much of the time they seemed to be grinning and bearing it. Laughing because they felt they had to, rather than wanted to. Nothing new in what he does. It's just louder, more offensive, and personal. That makes it funny? No way. He's clearly going to be making a lot of enemies with the routine he does, and many of them will be in the audience watching him I'm certain, and won't be back a second time, especially those in the front row! |

It's not as if they expected Joe Pasquale to come onto the stage, is it ? ![]() But anyway, back to my original question. How much material was cut out of the DVD ? Amazon and Play don't have the running time. |

It's a shame he thinks he has to be rude and offensive to be funny - which he's not. I didn't mind him a few years ago but now he's just way over the top. I watched Peter Kay's "The Tour that didn't tour" recently and his humour is far funnier than Frankie Boyle could ever be.

He seems to revel in Twitter, where his followers can give him instant feedback, so I imagine he can deal with it.

I've no idea how long the DVD is but I got the impression that it had been quite heavily cut. I found quite a bit of it amusing.
As the poster above said he loves Twitter so I can imagine he can take abuse quite well too. What he said to Chris Brown on Twitter was great, Chris Brown blocked him so Chris Brown obviously can't take a joke. |

My OH and I saw Frankie at the Edinburgh Playhouse a couple weeks back on his Last Days of Sodom tour - he was pretty funny and the place was full of laughter, his warm up guy was brilliant too.
I don't doubt he has a thick skin, I don't think he'd do it if he didn't. |

Would you pay money to a man to call you a paedophile? In front of hundreds of people and on TV, even as a "joke"? The Humphreys retort was about something said on the Radio 4 today programme I think, to answer the previous poster. |

IMDB lists the running time at 76 minutes.
My Sky planner lists the C4 version at 69 minutes so probably 50-55 or so with ads and auto padding. |

That's just a peril of going to see live comedy, if you don't want to be singled out, then pick a back seat, stay at home or opt for a safer comedian.
