Which is the best gaming machine between them both.

I'm going to say the PS3, seeing as the Xbox60 doesn't exist.

As for the Xbox 360 - there's plenty of threads on this already, just run a search.

I have both and they are both great, not really much in it, the majority of games come out for both platforms.

The only reason I use the PS3 for online gaming is I don't want to pay for it which is what you need to do in the 360, another advantage is the HDD is easily swappable with a laptop HDD.

360 is cheaper which is a big advantage and kinect is better than move if that interests you.

My friends all use PS3s too which is another major reason but a very subjective one, check to see what all your mates have and buy that, online gaming is what makes this gen so great compared to last gen.

Firstly - go with the system that most of your friends have so you can play with them.

Secondly - if none of your friends have a console get a PS3 and join PlayStation+. You can get 12 games downloaded to start you off!

Couldn't disagree more with you on kinect being better, being better at gathering dust maybe

In terms of which console is better, neither if you want to know which one is techinally better its ps3 but in terms of playing games look up the exclusives on youtube then choose a console

Though i kind of suspect this thread was only started to cause a fanboy arguement so good look with that

Yeah because there are loads of great move games

I got PS move at launch and it's shit, Sony have totally ignored its existence. Sports champions and Killzone was good but that's about it.

Yep this what i call ignoring it, just because you don't like that many move games doesn't mean there aren't any

I had a PS3 untill last monday when i picked up an xbox360. The controller feels much better on the xbox (bigger for a man rather than kids hands on the PS3) but i'm still getting use to the button layout etc...

Gaming wise, no difference. I prefer the layout of the home screen on xbox than the PS3.

Others will dissagree im sure.

IMO both consoles are worth having but I often wonder how good the uncharted and God of War series would have been on Xbox 360

They are both good machines and either will do fine. The 360 probably slighty edges it with Kinnect, the better controller, and in general multi platform games run slightly better on the 360 than ps3. However as has been said if your mates have ps3's then that more than overrides the minor 360 benefits.

Of course the best gaming system is PC which trounces all consoles in almost every aspect.

They are both great machines and you will enjoy either of them, they do both come with their own faults though IMHO.

PS3 controller is small and the triggers suck, 360 controller has the dodgy bumper buttons and the battery pack is uncomfortable.

Kinect and Move are both under supported and pretty much one trick ponies, nothing really great on either, but both offer a fun distraction from controller gaming if motion gaming takes your fancy.

PS3 often gets the poorer versions of multi platform games but 360 requires you to rent the online portion of your games.

360 is better for streamed media, PS3 is better for local media playback.

OS Menus are functional on both, which is better is very subjective.

Basically both machines are match pretty equally, for one fault you can find on one system you will find a different fault with the other. Both are great and both have their faults.

haven't played GoW - but Uncharted, certainly couldn't have been any better.

Totally agree with the controller comment above - the 360 controller is a much better fit for my hands. I can only really use the PS dualshock when it's buffed up with the EA 'comfort pack'.

Funny enough i was just saying to a friend last night i wonder how Halo would look on the PS3. Great minds eh lol.

To the op i have both consoles my personal preference is the PS3 but if you're into active games aka fitness games etc i'd recomend the Xbox360 as the Kinnect is very good. If you want to play a lot of online gaming i'd recomend the PS3 as Microsoft charge for having Xbox live gold although you can get a years subscription for about £25 if you're willing to hunt around.
The PS3 has blu ray too so you can use it to watch Blu Ray movies.

i think motion controls have had their day, i do like the kinect though, voice recognition etc

im looking forward to the Wii U, Nintendo have some mad ideas, you have to hand it to them..

i bought a move but didnt think much of it, felt a bit cheap and too much of a wii ripoff, only with poorer games.

sports champions was decent but it couldnt match the simplicity of Wii sports

Again, as pointed out, go with what your friends have, if you're just getting a console for yourself, I'd say go with a PS3 and get a PS+ account, it's tailored for late comers, so right away you'll get 12 pretty damn good games delivered to your console all for the same cost of Xbox Live for one year.

PS3 all the way. If you don't agree, I'll see you in the playground for a fight!!

All my mates have a PS3, one or two also have an Xbox so it was a no brainer to get a PS3.

PS3 by far - so many more exclusives.

As to Move vs Kinnect - I like shooters - Move works brilliantly with shooters

I'll use this thread to ask where I'm better looking for an XBOX 360 250 GB with Kinect?

I'm a little bit dubious because of problems in the past with them breaking down all too often. So is there any national shops that do decent deals on second hand bundles or even brand new. Looking to spend up to £200 for either for the right deal.

Do Game, CEX or such shops offer any kind of warranty on second hand bundles?

Cheers in advance.
