Well Jessica Ennis has just said on Daybreak that she hasn't heard anything about it, but she would love to do it as she is a huge fan of the X Factor

I'm pretty sure Bradley Wiggins would rather chop his head off that go on X-factor

Chris Hoy has already rubbished this on Twitter this morning.
There are enough true xfactor stories they can clog the papers with... why on earth do they insist on making stuff up? |

Do they really want to degrade themselves by being associated with this utter garbage?
The Olympic athletes are proper talent. They don't need to be on a programme like that with all the nonentities they have on there. |

I assume this is something the X Factor PR machine has "leaked" to get publicity on the back of the pretty damn (and unexpectedly) successful Olympic Games.

On Saturday Morning (i think it was) the Sun announced that Mo Farrah had been 'signed up' by Cowell to appear in the X Factor to mentor/coach the acts. Of course it was all 'an insider says' or 'a source says' (ie. 'we've made this up')
For the last couple of weeks the tabloids have featured on every front page some successful olympian, and that X Factor obsession is about to start, they instantly make up stories that will conbine the two, providing a smooth (if completely fabricated) segue |
