Best place to sit in the cinema?

What's your preference. Me personally on my own it's probably the left side three row back. With friends well I created a thread called best place to sit in a cinema. You can judge my social life from that

Whenever I go, I always sit as near to the back as possible so that there's little strain on my eyes when looking at the screen. I've sat near the front a few times and it's not that great.

At the back - no-one can kick your seat, plus you can have a snog if you want

Back row, centre.

My local has more leg room on the back row as well as being about an extra 6-8" higher than the other rows.

Mid-Centre. Minimal eye movement and less neck turning.

I'd say at least around the middle of the cinema where you are positioned not too far or close from the screen

as far away from any idiots as possible - munching food, talking, texting etc. Too many rude folk at cinemas these days spoiling it for everyone else that I rarely visit anymore.

For 2D, fairly close to the front. There's no point paying for a big-screen experience and then sitting right at the back. It's not a classroom. I want the screen to fill my vision for a more immersive experience.

For 3D, sitting closer to the middle distance seems to be better. I suspect the 3D is optimised for the "average" viewer, in the middle.

I usually find that a seat is the best place to sit.

Back row at the top of the stairs so theres no seats in front of you and you can stretch your legs.

Back and Centre. Always always.

Shame my friends never agree with me.

I very much prefer the middle of the middle. I don't have great eyesight so sitting right at the back makes it a little harder to see and I hate sitting at the front due to neck strain. I also like a fairly straight on view of the screen.

Don't you find sitting right under the projector annoying?

I like the back row, but I always make a beeline for just off-centre so that I'm not right under the projector.

If it is a screen that has a couple or few seats on the opposite side of the stairs, then I'll go there, as there is less likelihood of someone sitting next to me.

the early bird is a good time to go if you want to avoid people. i made the mistake of sitting right at the back and had a panic attack, i forgot about my fear of heights so definitely the front

Best place to sit... as far away from children or teens as possible. They ruined The Dark Knight Rises.

Centre.

Never sit on the very back row, as there are bound to be semen stains.

I've started booking my tickets online before I go. Ensures I have a good seat or a seat I really want. Small additional cost for paying over the net but worth it.

At the back in the middle. In my local cinema these are classed at "premium" seats meaning Id have to pay another £2 to sit there. Screw that! I now sit as close as I can to the back in the centre, I do try to sit on the aisle aswell but it depends on the size of the screen.
