Ive had no trouble with three in Burton upon Trent and the surrounding areas ( good to very good speeds etc) however both 02 and giff gaff have reasonable 2G coverage their 3G isnt that great.
Vodafone are a little better than 02, and going by someone else orange/T mobile are a little better still. So for Burton i would rate Three as the best vodafone orange/Tmobile O2 as the worse If however you go to Nottingham, things change a little and Three can be a little bit patchy. |

Thanks for that. I'll avoid GiffGaff then.

Three and T mobile should be the same as Three use T mobiles masts.
I can't comment on burton on trent myself (never been there). But the best thing to do is buy a pay as you go sim (£1) for the network you'd want to go for and trial it for 7 days. Alternatively if you have any of the network stores near you then go to them and ask them to check your signal on their internal system checker. This checker is much more accurate than the coverage checker online and tells you where your nearest masts are and what type of coverage your are expected to get in your area. Sure its not 100% accurate but its much better than the online one and will give you a realistic idea as to the signal in your area. Also ask friends and family what network they are on, what they use their phone for (calls/data/texts) and how it is for their main usage. Hope this helps. |
