I didn`t know that Roger can play acustic guitar so well, bravo.

It's OT but what do you think of Joe Bonamassa, besides his singing?

Great band.

As sixties bands go I generally prefer the Kinks, but the Who did perform better than Ray Davies at the Olympics Closing Ceremony (imo), being the ideal act to close that event and the perfect antidote to the sheer horror that was George Michael, the Spice Girls, Jessie J and Take That.

Pete has written so many great songs. It was good to see them show the young 'ens how it's really done the other week.

Thats a fantastic song, and not from their classic era.

The Who have always been in my top five all time greats. I've seen them a few times, and during the early 70s, they were as good as anyone live.

They are not the same now, and cant possibly be, but they are still superb.

They're probably best known for classic, heavy rock songs like My Generation or Won't Get Fooled Again, but they did a bit of lesser known quieter stuff in their early days .

'my generation' was and still is IMHO the teen anthem of all time, yes beating 'teenage kicks'..but tbh, post my gen, i gradually lost interest in them.

Throughout their career they always did a wide variety of songs.

The album Who's Next is a masterpiece, and should be owned by everyone who likes classic rock music.

"Baba O'Riley" is certainly a masterpiece, and the rest of that album is very good too. However, I've always seen the Who (along with the Small Faces) as the ultimate British Mod band rather than as a Classic Rock band, and have always tended to prefer what they recorded in the mid-sixties to what they recorded in the seventies.

I love that early period too, but things changed in 1969 with Tommy. It transformed them into something else, and for me, they got even better.

Tommy, Who's Next, and Quadrophenia are all classics, then they did the underated Who By Numbers, which is a great album too.

They were pretty much skint when the released Tommy, and that really was a make of break album, and thankfully it worked.
