That's exactly what it is - poor role models who didn't teach parenting skills so young people are ill equipped for the job.

The mum of the family I was referring to was only in her early 20s and at the time had 2 children, she now has 5. She had special educational needs but her original partner was more able.

I'm breaking no confidences if I tell you that her name was Carmen - not her given name but she hated her mother so much that she changed her name. I was very impressed (in a totally non patronising way) that she knew of Carmen - but it transpired that it was the name of a local car business, and she saw it on their site sign I explained to her about the other Carmen and loaned her a CD - she loved it!

How can you alter it? We only get half an hour to edit posts.
there have been cases of moderators removing whole threads on the whim of one person but i hope that wont happen again.

The static electricity was awfully pretty in the dark though. My mother and me used to turn the lights off before we took our jumpers off and wave them around shouting wooo woo when we saw sparks

I think it's about time someone said that Jojo is lovely, or at least perved after her rather than her children. I haven't seen the pictures because I do not belong to Facebook (or if I do I've forgotten my password), but I would like to put it on record that I think JoJo looked both lovely and pervable at the wedding, especially wearing that jacket.

you've just reminded me of a couple of polo necks that did that sparky thing and they were so tight! and made my hair stick to them

Hi JoJo.:)

Saw the pics in the end, the username is case sensitive that why we couldn't find them.
They are all lovely, glad the day went well, hope Daughter will be very happy.

Hi doodle.:)
At least Static won't harm you.
I think you need a vase of flowers in the room, the water evaporating gives some humidity to the room, thats why you get the static, the air is too dry.

Hi Honey,:)

Like i said above to doodle, the air in the room is too dry, a vase of flowers or a something with water in would probably stop the static.
If the air is dry the friction between the manmade fibre materials is stored like a capacitor but if the air is humid the charge runs away/discharges itself.

Hi doodle.

Nothing has changed, the same conditions produce static, man made carpets are a real problem at times.

But i think Cotton is mainly used now as it absorbs water where man made fibre can't so ant perspiration is left untouched. .

Carmen Silvera? of allo allo fame.

( It's ok, I know the Carmen you mean ) Yep the ignorance getting passed down from one generation to the next with some is mind-boggling.

oh I have dl in the mummy of this freaddie's thread (ie the last one) I thought JoJo and all her family looked fabulous. I'm not perving over you though JoJo, you'll be glad to know. Only your daughter. I know miss D reads this sometimes, she'll probably thump me for writing that.
