2.95m (13.2%) average for Dallas. 3.2m/15% peak.

Disappointing that. Wrong night to launch? Probably.

Either side of Dallas, Celebrity Big Brother averaged 1.78m (8.3%) at 8pm and 1.88m (11.8%) at 10.15pm.

Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side rounded off C5's evening with 743k (8.6%).

Well that makes us look incredibly foolish for predicting higher. Not sure about wrong night to launch, but I do note only 22.3m watching between 21:00 and 22:15.

ITV1’s new drama Mrs Biggs secured 3.8m (17.4%) viewers. It was beaten by Who Do You Think You Are?'s 4.1m (17.9%). #tellyratings

Yeah, i wanted it to go around 4 million, it deserved it as its a cracking series, it did have competition on all sides though, and I'm sure anything that averages nearly 3 million will make Channel 5 very happy indeed (And who knows, with all the positive buzz it may grow next week?)

Wondering if Daybreak has hit the 0.7m mark for it's third show since the changes?

Well the 8pm show for CBB obviously hindered it a lot which is annoying.
Now with Dallas, I knew people were expecting too much. People going for predictions of 4-5m were a little too hopeful!

Do any of those Ch5 shows incl +1?

Given the low base, do we think Dallas could go up next week? If the Friday repeat gets ~1m, I would say that it is plausible.

Dallas did successfully recruit younger viewers at least.

In the 8pm hour when CBB was on, C5 averaged an 11% share of 16-34 year olds (438k watching in this demo).

In the 9pm hour the number of 16-34s rose to 446k, with the share dipping slightly to 10.5%. And in the 10pm hour which contained both shows, the number of 16-34s rose once again to 466k/13.3%.

So another clunking drama flop for ITV then. Had a feeling another drama celebrating those cheeky chappy great train robber types would flop. This had a sense of "He Kills Coppers" about it. When will telly execs learn?

Decent start for 5's latest US import by their standards. But some folk were clearly getting a bit carried away. Suspect it won't sustain 2m a week.

Given the fact that I would imagine quite a few people were watching last night out of curiousity from the old series, I would say that quite a few wouldn't tune in again. The trend in America and Australia have been quick declines, I would doubt it would increase in the UK (unless there is very positive reviews and word of mouth). To get 2.5m next week would be a success I would have thought, and to remain above 2m for the rest of the series. 2.95m is still fantastic figures for an import launch (was Flashforward the last to get higher on any channel?), I'm sure Channel 5 would be pleased

It's Channel 5. I think that's a great rating for Dallas.

I honestly thought Who Do You Think You Are would be hit harder but that show is ROBUST in the ratings. And as I've always said you can't use trending topics as an indication of ratings. WDYTYA barely registered and yet there it is, top of the pile in overnights.

it wasn't a great night - I missed the beginning because I was so engrossed in the paralympics on C4, so I ended up recording it. But that still seems like a pretty good rating for 5?

Do you know if we'll be getting a breakdown, be interested to see if people bailed out or came late!

That's about what I expected for Dallas, at the end of the day it's a Desperate housewives type show and I'd expect it to settle around 1.5 to 2m after a couple of weeks.
It has the nostalgia initial bump up, but I think we can expect a drop over the next few weeks, still stunning ratings for Channel 5.
Mrs Biggs did better than I expected, how many people really want to see another take on the train robbers? It got fairly bad reviews too, not that quality is an indication of ratings.

So every relaunch has actually resulted in a drop in audience for Daybreak?

Hopefully it will grow.

Weird to think about the amount of negative press Christine and Adrian got, but Daybreak had it's best audience figures when they were hosting it. Since they were axed audience figures dropped and now they've dropped again.

This!

There have been some mad ratings predictions around here recently. 5m for Dallas, Doctor Who to beat The X Factor last Saturday. Madness!

Mrs Biggs was good but ITV expected higher. I know I did.

Mrs Biggs got bad reviews? Most of what I've seen have been positive about the show. I agree about Dallas, it's on Channel 5, it's a Revenge/Desperate Housewives type show so around 2m will be its level in my opinion.

It's not really mad given the big promotion for it, though. I expected higher than a 3.2m peak, in all honesty.
